...and anyone with any sense knew that. Not sure why a few got their panties in a bunch. It's as if they feel they're the only ones that have experienced a loved one with dementia. It is NOT rare at all and likely we ALL have seen it in a grandparent, parent, aunt, uncle. I find making light of it or joking about it helps to deal with it and does NOT belittle those that have it or the severe impact it has on family and friends.

I'd say, get over yourselves please. Dementia is clearly medically defined, but it's also informally used for anyone older that is showing signs of poor decisions, whether they have it or not. Now, trying to prove one has it legally or publicly for some gain, yeah, that would be BAD, just like trying to label someone an abuser that likely isn't, etc.

Demented, retarded, no problem with those being thrown around casually, so long as there is no intent to get them officially labeled in some way. We know those words are being used to imply lack of reasoning or intelligence or wisdom and nothing more than that.

Again, get over yourselves...stop the Social Warrior and Cancel Culture diseases in their tracks before we're all afraid to speak at all.

Words matter and attacking people with opinions you don't like is supposed to be something we don't do here.

It is possible to use language thoughtfully and respectfully while still maintaining our freedom of speech. There are words that are not acceptable in certain situations. This very board blocks some words that are considered profane. I think it is a little silly that I can't use **** or **** here, but we have standards.

Just because you don't have a problem with people misusing words like demented or retarded doesn't mean that it is okay.

And he let the team sign a bunch of bad veteran contracts that the next coach would have to deal with... Dick move.

Just a random thought after listening to ARII during the game about inconsistencies in the previous season

I wonder if there was more to the conversation when Tomlin came in and said he was retiring

I just thought I might stir this turd

Yes… I’m sure we’ll see a whole new set of insightful thoughts in response to this bump. Thanks a lot!

Let me give you the cliff notes: Rooney doesn't care about winning and Tomlin sucks. You're welcome.

Attorneys have to be smart in a very small niche of intelligence, that being said, they usually have little common sense and zero sense of right and wrong.

    Nice stir of the punchbowl.

I honestly believe ARII is more concerned about PC than he is about upholding what his father and grandfather established. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Tomlin's stepping down caught him off guard. But then I wouldn't be surprised if his hair on fire caught him off guard.:drinks:

I opened this thread and it took me to the first page. Then it hit me who started the thread.

This must have been the most painful experience for our ignoring poster extraordinaire.

I found myself feeling bad for him. It must have been a real gut punch.

Their job is to create clickbait, and this will surely do that.

This thread might be old but reading Tomlin is gone will never get old!

It’s quite befuddling to call someone who hasn’t won a playoff game in 10 yrs one of the greatest

I agree. And while I honestly don't enjoy piling on Tomlin, I also don't see the point of continually defending him. He stuck around too long. His message became old and tired and he seemed unwilling or unable to adapt. He didn't live up to the standard he preached. Great regular season coach. Poor post-season coach. Cowher's career was better overall, despite having Ben Roethlisberger for only 3 seasons:

Tomlin: 4 of 19 seasons with a playoff win, with an 8-12 playoff record. With Ben for 15 seasons. 193–114–2 (.628) regular season.
Cowher: 8 of 15 seasons with a playoff win, with a 12-9 playoff record. With Ben for 3 seasons. 161–99–1 (.619) regular season.

He did a good job. Crowd clapped for his zero losing seasons. Must not have been any Steeler fans there.

Seems a bit odd for him to be on Jimmy Fallon’s show

Is this satire? Another list that must have been compiled by a Tomlin nut hugger. Several of those snippets could be rolled into one while describing Tomlin’s career.

And having Jimmy Johnson and Dikta on there really makes that list worthless.

Not directed at anyone specific but I always found it odd how so many anti-Tomlin fans use sexual energy to disparage those who defend him.

Always a mention of balls or nuts.. or sole type of sexual pleasure while watching Tomlin

    Tf is that about?
