At the end of the day hes still 43 years old but at least this part of his game give me some hope. Last year he didnt have the support he needed around him to succeed but this year the WR room is much better and the line should be improved and playing in an offense he knows inside and out.

Allar is definitely the hope for future QB1. He's a legitimate AFC North QB. Big frame, big hands, safe with the ball, moves well. I am looking forward to seeing his mechanics in this preseason sched and whether he'll be able to hold it together under a rush.

Howard's that QB who can't get the ball there at a sufficient tempo if he's not putting his entire body into it. So mechanics matter with him too, but McCarthy's a west coast traditionalist in his scheme, and is good at keeping his call sheet balanced, so maybe the arm strength won't be as important.

Heidenreich is one of those players who will earn a role. He is too talented and smart to not factor in. I don't think he'll be an impact player as a rookie, but there's a good chance he'll roast some defenders on wheels and seams. Not a back you want to draw in space as a defender. Kid's legit and Rodgers is accurate enough to use him well.

Some mentions of Wetjen too in this thread. I don't think it's likely anyone else will end up beating him out at the PR role. He's a one trick pony, but it's one hell of a trick. Once he gets a feel for the ST unit around him and the change in speed with gunners at this level he'll adjust and we'll feel him. I'll be surprised if he can't be at least a very good PR.

    Good post.

Personally my only concern with the offense is Rodgers staying up. If that happens then we're going to have the best offense we've seen in years. And I think going forward the unit looks very strong with the unfortunate exception of QB. Rodgers hangs em up after this season so who takes the job, that is a big question, however there's a good chance everyone sees this offense as a desirable place to QB by that point. Can Allar be ready by year two? Can he run a top offense? If they lose or don't make the playoffs this year they may still need to cobble together a move up in the draft, unless by some miracle Allar is a quicker study than expected.

Re: Allar maybe I'm not being fair to him. But no matter how I slice it I keep going back to his lack of progress on mechanics in college. He has the talent but was his lack of progression due to a staff that didn't get it out of him, or was it him not doing the work. Not sure what to think there.

I wish I was happy with Graham as DC. I'm on the fence. Hope he's ready to lead a top unit but I'm not sure what to expect.

My reaction to reading the quote at the start of the tweet.

" wow what a coincidence my 13 year old daughter thinks the same thing."

    LoL.
Your right . 2 SB appearances, and 1 SB win, 201 wins, 126 loses, 2 ties, but Yeah it didn't win anything. LoL.
And Mike Tysons uppercut didn't do anything. Since he lost at the end

Just skip over the last 6 seasons of mediocre football and the last 10 years of playoff futility. I would to if I was trying to paint a false picture of his coaching ability.

So you mean just skip over the 10 wins a year, and only pick the games you say?? LoL
You, and I both know it is a false hood to say a HC that has 201 wins, 126 losses, 2 ties, and 2 SB appearances, and one SB win didn't work.
Let me let you in on a little secret.......
Over 400 HCs have coached since the SB started only 25 in the history of the NFL have been to two SB, and the guy you said stuff didn't work was one of them.
Make that make sense without breaking your neck to do so

Starting to think this offense is going to look like mud out of the gate. Hard time believing the defense is just that good. MM's first month with Dallas he was 1-3 :icon e sad:. The good news is the team averaged 30+pts/gm. Bad news is the defense looked like dookie. Let's hope Graham has what it takes. :clapping:

He was a very good coach at the start, when Cowher was out but at the end Tomlin was washed and outdated by the current NFL.Hiring too many awful assistant, the defense scheme was bad,one big reason why they were awful on this side of the ball in the playoffs

The steelers lost 8 games per year including the playoffs in each of the last 5 years...Tomlin lower the standard of the steelers

The second year of McCarthy was much better in Green Bay and Dallas vs his first year.He won 5-6 games more in his second year....The cowboys were awful even with Dak at the start of 2020 too and their lone win vs falcons in 2020 in september, they were so lucky the falcons botch the onside kick or Dallas would been 0-4

You keep saying this but you keep leaving off that the Packers were 4-12 the year before he came so they were better the 1st year with him, and that Dak only played 5 game his 1st year as the Cowboys HC.

Let’s BU because in your effort to defend Tomlins honor you are missing the gist of the post.

Ward said he hates that they havent been tackling and that the camps arent as hard. I pointed out that it’s not like it’s helped them win. Clearly I am talking about recently and you know that.

I want Tom Brady to end up penniless, divorced and alone, living on the streets. Think it will happen?

The cowboys were 8⁻8 in 2019 and in 2020 they were awful even with Dak in 2020...Like I said, they were lucky to not be 0-4 in the 4 full games with Dak in 2020

For the packers, they were also 10-6 in 2003 and 2004.Favre had just a brutal year in 2005 with 29 interceptions and one of the reason why Favre was bad,he was upset at the packers for having drafted a young QB in the first round

I think the offense will struggle out of the gate but also that the defense will be that good. I like everything I have been reading and hearing about that side of the ball.

    Moving the goal post again.
We are talking about when McCarthy took over not 4 year before, or whatever. Let me repeat.
The year before McCarthy took over the Packers the Packers were 4-12, and McCarthy lead them to a 8-8 record which was an improvement.
The year He took over the Cowboys Dak got hurt, and only played 5 games, so that's a wash, and you can't tell how good they would have been.
