R.I.P Thread

The rock radio station when I was in high school played 'Old Time Rock n Roll' maybe twice an hour. Every hour. It got to the point I would hear the first couple notes of the piano intro, and my finger would automatically change the station. Not a hater of Bob Seger, not a fan either.

 

I don’t mind a little Seger. Just a little.

 

I hope the Rodeo song is still around.

Just one in the long list of One Hit Wonders but she sure had some non-velvet fog in those pipes.

Edit: She actually had other songs on the charts like - "It's a Heartache" but is mainly know for Eclipse with the crazy MTV video. Here's a nice read on her.

Sam Neill, actor -Jurassic Park, 78. RIP.

 

No way. Geez. He has played in so many things I've enjoyed. Event Horizon, Omen 3, Jurassic Park movies, hell the list goes on, and on. RIP

 

Neill was always so believable in his roles. Very good actor. RIP Sir!

Started with Erroll Flynn, a product of Tasmania, a kiwi of sort.

 

Bob Seger songwriter and penned the majority of his biggest hits himself, including classics like Night Moves, Mainstreet, We’ve Got Tonight, and Like a Rock.

He even wrote songs for other artists (like “Heartache Tonight” for The Eagles)

As a singer he is not the best , but has a unique voice that sounds like he came out of a smokey room in a good way.

 

Dead Calm was a terrible movie for me. I found it so boring. Made me dislike Nicole Kidman for years.

 

Hal Williams who played Officer Smitty on "Sanford and Son" died at age 91. Some of us old timers will remember his hilarious scenes with his white police partner Officer Hoppy. Smitty would always have to explain to Fred what Officer Hoppy was saying as Hoppy only talked using official police jargon and then Smitty would use black slang to interpret what Hoppy was saying to Fred.
