Wow what an arm! And at 5'8" she towers over Dillon Gabriel and Diego Pavia.

Let me guess, without clicking on the article, the beat writer is Kaboly

He has a serious man crush on Rudolph.

It was Kaboly. He said Rudolph is clearly the #2 QB and Howard is playing for a place on the roster. If he plays well this pre-season then he makes the squad as QB #4. If he plays poorly then he will be gone. The more I see or hear Kaboly the more I'm convinced that he is full of crap.

Sometimes I think he is trolling but that would be really stupid when your brand is supposed to be accurate reporting.

I don't believe half of what he writes, but..........
I do believe I tried saying that most NFL coaches will not go into a season without an experience backup, and I was told how stupid I was. Well we will see. Im not saying they won't, but Its not a common thing.

Tomlin most definitely would not go without an experienced backup

    I highly doubt McCarthy will

People telling you that’s crazy believe clickbait and play Madden

Except Tomlin did when he cut Landry Jones for Dobbs. I seem to recall quite a few people getting into it with me over that one when I said they would keep Dobbs. Oops.

I think we're just in a different situation. We have a 40 something starter, so if Rodgers goes down for an extended period of time... an experienced back up isn't going to save us (it certainly didn't help us last year when our experienced back up lost when Rodgers missed a game). If Rodgers goes down, I'd rather play one of our young players (Preferrably Howard, as I think Allar is in the situation where seeing the field this year would hurt him more than help him). Personally, I think having a Howard/Allar QB room behind Rodgers makes sense if we can get Skylar Thompson (or a player of that caliber) on the PS to call up if Rodgers goes down. Howard would be back up and the PS player would go to back up. Allar is a rostered red-shirt in this situation. None of this matters unless Howard can show the ability to be a good player in the preseason. If he stinks it up, then stash him on the PS and keep Rudolph around. But if Howard plays really well in the preseason/camp, then let him have the job. Who cares?

If Rodgers is out for a few weeks then the season is over anyway. Mason Rudolph has lost 6 of his last 7 starts so it's not like he will keep the team afloat if Rodgers is out for a month or two. Unless Howard totally bombs in pre-season then he should be the backup and Rudolph given his walking papers.

I think we can survive like 2-3 weeks or so (I honestly think this team has a better roster than last year's team, and we made it while taking an L when Rodgers missed a game), but I am talking a 4+ week miss for Rodgers. If he's out for that extended period of time, then we'd be better off figuring out what our young QB's have than trying to go 1-2 or 2-1 (at best) with Mason Rudolph at QB. I don't care as much about his Titans time, but I just don't think he's really even that great of a back up. It's not like we'd be canning Charlie Batch. He's a fine enough player, but I tend to think past this season on this point and just decide to roll with the two young guys. I am hoping one of those two are the future of the franchise and delaying that knowledge for the likes of Mason Rudolph just doesn't sit right with me.
