No Cruz missiles for the games.

Mid June and your Pittsburgh Pirates are 36-36 a mere 8 games behind those first place beer makers. Actually thought we had something going on there but the pitching has walked the plank plus injuries to key players really hurts.

I'm guessing this road trip will send them under .500 for the season.:crycry: Damn shame because it is against teams a fully healthy Bucs team could hang with.

Just an opinion but from what I'm reading there will be no MLB in 2027. Winner of the 2026 World Series will get to hold the title for 2 years unless it's those bums from Brooklyn because then it'd be 4 years.

I am going on a fan strike until they release Ozuna and make moves to better the bullpen. I just won’t pay any attention to them until then. Got other things to do anyway.

I understand how the Pirates are run (cheaply) so I don't expect Playoff caliber teams. With a little effort put in by the front office this 2026 team could have kept it interesting into Sept. Those were two big injuries the Bucs suffered. Cruz and Konnor with a K. We certainly are not a good defensive team. Cruz being out probably helps there. Bullpen is double A. That said, I'll stay with them as long as .500 is on the table. Pretty sure the table will be cleared within a few weeks.

We knew Braves and Bums were going to be a problem but losing 2 of 3 to the very beatable Marlins was sad. The whole team pretty much shut down with runners on base and the pitching? Oh well, should be interesting in Vegas and Rocky Mtn High with all the recent high scoring games at both venues. Would have been nice with KG and Cruz in the lineup. You know the pitching will get scorched.

Whoops, I take back my comments about Bucs playing at the new A's stadium in Vegas. I guess that was just a few games played there at a minor league field against the Brewers but not their $2 billion stadium that won't be ready until 2028. Looks like the next 3 games will be played at their West Sacramento minor league field. Oh goody. Maybe Williamsport is next?

    In other news
Wanted the Bucs to go on a 10 game win streak
    Totally went in reverse
Lost their last 8 out of 10

    Good choice of field
Both these teams look like minor league teams
The way the Buccos are playing
They are destined to the little league fields

Mark Kotsay, the A's Manager, and former serviceable MLB player, played at a local high school and was a tremendous athlete, ironically as QB on the football team. He was fun to watch and very good as a passer and a run threat. Happy for him to go on with a good career in the MLB.

Both the A's and ChiSox have turned their teams around this year, compared to the recent past.

Jury's still out with our Bucs but it's sinking fast with the worst record in MLB the past 10 games. Maybe Mlod should have quit completely as he was hinting at after getting put in the pen after being tried as a horrible starter. Hard to compete when your pitching gives up 10+ runs on a regular basis. Fortunately (sort of) Reynolds saved 8 runs by snagging 3 HR's against Dodgers and Marlins at the short fence in LF.

Well we made it to June 15th as a .500 team. 1 game under as of June 16th. We may be slip sliding away.

Even with their recent O decline against Braves, Dodgers and Marlins - they are still statistically doing very well in the overall scheme of things (of, course no mention of pitching stats please).

Well looks like Hank Davis will be a fixture behind the plate now that Joey Bart is heading to Atlanta for ex-Pirate pitcher Hunter Stratton. Davis is hitting 60 pts lower (.138) than Ozuna who's just sniffing the Mendoza line at .198. I'd just let the pitcher bat when Davis is catching. Kind of like they do with Otahni, but a bit different and still keep a DH not named Ozuna in the lineup - albeit he sure liked hitting in that minor league field in Sacramento). How much worse could they be? At least they used to be pretty good at bunting or getting a walk on occasion and with a few rare good hitting pitchers like Ken Brett who had a lifetime BA of .262 and .310 in 1974 with the Bucs.

Looks like the DOJ is going to investigate MLB for it's antitrust exemption. It's about time

    Best BP in MLB
Easily can be 10 games over .500
If BP would just save half the games

Even still, bases loaded no outs top of 9th, 1 run behind in Colorado, and zero runs scored. That's as troubling as the BP. Though even if they had scored 10 runs, that likely wouldn't have held up.
