I read an article about that band a few weeks back. Apparently either they or their record co hired some social media marketing company. The company put out hundreds of reels and ticktock vids. Then used bots to feed the algorithm. They went from nothing to international stardom with a quickness

oh yeah, sign of the times, other bands in other ways throughout the years were done differently, can be hellish promoting
It is their 4th album iirc
saw them a couple of years back and plan on catching their show this weekend at Bonnaroo

 

This has been stuck in my head for a few days. Of course I had a celeb crush on Susanna Hoffs back then (didn't everyone?).

It was indeed a crying shame when he (age 26) and (much earlier) Sam Cooke (age 33) died so young and tragically. Might as well add Marvin Gaye (age 44) and Tammi Terrell (age 24) too.

 

This probably sounds different then I will mean it, but millions of young men drummers, and they couldn't find one that could do the job???
Also I know who she is, and what she has done, I'm not downing her playing, or what she can do, I'm wondering why out of millions of male drummers , why her?? I personally think it's a publicity stunt. JMO.

I listened to it twice yesterday. It just hit the spot. No need to dig for another record just play it again

 

I knew she played with Beck. He is one of my Guitar idols. One of the few Guitar players who never stopped learning, progressing, and moving forward. I just think it's strange. To me it would be like for example Heart replacing one of the Sisters with a Dude.

 

Dude about 12 years ago I listened to this album nonstop for 2 weeks, and then for years after, even until now, I have the CD downloaded into a mix list, and listen to it when I don't want to break everything out.
