I think Queen, Highsmith, and Ramsey will be gone in 2027 unless the Steelers get a crazy trade request before the trade deadline this year. Also, I don't see Broderick Jones getting his 5th year option renewed. I want to see Dk have. a monster year otherwise he might be released as well. I am expecting a better year as opposed to the weak Arthur Smith offense with no #2 WR.

Huh? Highsmith wasn't a free agent from another team. He is also a very good player. It makes little sense to dump him unless they get an excellent return.

Trading for Metcalf and overpaying him was a big mistake. They would have been far better off keeping Pickens. Queen has also been a bust, though part of that is stubbornly and foolishly giving him the green dot even though he has struggled when he has had to take on that role throughout his career, even back when he was with the Ravens.

How would've it been better to keep Pickens when they had no plans to extend him .

They didn't have to. If he puts together a monster year in 2025, as he did with the Cowboys, and starts acting like a model citizen, they still had leverage with the franchise tag. If not, they can move on and find someone else with they money they are overpaying Metcalf right now.

Also, with a new coaching staff coming in, the plans easily could have changed.

Funny how some folks are happy to speculate about what the Steelers intended to do, but then they lose their minds and cry clickbait if someone else does it.

Even if Pickens stayed he wasn't going to put up similar stats like he did with Dak, imagine him and Rodgers trying to get along .

A monster year in Pittsburgh in 2025 would have been lesser numbers than what it was in Dallas due to the offense's flaws, but that doesn't mean he coudn't have been productive.
