Green didn't get to the playoffs and then have his WRs not catch a pass in the game like Allar did, I had no interest in Green I doubt he ever becomes a starting QB in the NFL.

I mean, what's Arth going to say? "We expected Howard and Allar to dress themselves, be in shape, and to not drool on themselves...but they're doing slightly better than that." :lolol:

I can't wait for real football to start and be able to actually see the development of players and get a better idea of what schemes they will be using on each side of the football and at what positions certain players will be playing and how they will be used.

This offseason stuff at a message board is brutal. Nothing but people here arguing with each other over players that aren't on the team any longer, past head coaches that aren't here any longer, and things we can't possibly know yet.

Other than that, it's been a hoot!

What young quarterback has he mentored successfully? They likely hoped he could help the young quarterbacks, too, but they brought Rodgers back because he gives them their best opportunity to win games this season.

I don't get the love for Allar or the excuse making. You can blame the WRs, but he was still not great vs bad teams. His first three games last year were against Nevada, FIU and Villanova and he averaged 208 yards a game. The more pressure he faces the worse he does, and this I do not think can be fixed. I hope I am wrong he turns out great, but I think the odds favor that he won't ever be a regular starting QB

    That's the 2nd reason.
I personally believe, not that it matters, but that You, and @jeh1856@jeh1856 are both correct.
You say he gives the best opportunity to win, and jeh because he can help the youth. Actually he doesn't even have to say a word to the youth to help, if they just watch how he watches film, how he practices , and that will be a boon. You can learn a lot from a vet , future HOF Qb by just watching, and listening.

When playing against good competition, Penn State always did better when they took the ball out of Allars hands.

He's got talent but lost them a lot of games with really bad decision making.

If Howard has improved his arm strength with proper mechanics, his chances of being a good QB just jumped up.

A big knock on him was not being able to make NFL throws.
