Now remember I'm not in either camp, I'm not a Penn state, or Ohio state fan, but who would poach a 6th round Qb off a practice squad that they've never seen play in the NFL when they would have to put him on their roster?? I could be wrong but that seems pretty desperate for whomever that team is.

Make up Your mind , either he can play every position, or he can't, or is NT not a position all of a sudden in the NFL

Howard won't be on the practice squad. He'll be the backup to Rodgers.

I never said he would be, I asked a question, and
    That's not what I asked.

I keep forgetting that we even drafted this guy. Nobody was excited about it.

Crazy thought, but after hearing about how Cook and Anderson are running on the Right Side with the 1s, and Dunk and Max are running on the right side with the 2s; Any possibility that this is the plan to build chemistry with Dunk and Max when they both take the Starting Jobs on the Right Side from Cook and Anderson?

On the left you have Troy and Mason working together.

I did have a shot around the time he was drafted. Does that count.

Watching some of the OTA clips.I must say Roman Wilson is noticeably quicker than the other wide receivers. He will be used properly this year. Out of Tomlin's dog house he is.Several young players are having good OTA's. You won't see any OL or DL players standout until there is full contact.

Quickness wasn't a problem for Wilson. It was route running and adjusting to defensive looks that got him in trouble.

That is what Tomlin said. I saw nothing of the sort when he played. There was no film evidence of this . What adjustments did Wilson struggle with? Do tell.

The quickest men will always be stationary in a dog house.

Remember Dotson? Tomlin missed on him. Now he is a very good NFL player. Robert Spillane looked better on his next team too.

Daylen Everette’s Potential as a Free Safety in the NFL
Daylen Everette, a five-star cornerback from Georgia, has drawn attention for his versatility and physical profile, with some analysts suggesting he could thrive at free safety in the NFL despite being drafted as a cornerback.

    Why he could play safety
NFL writer Charles McDonald noted that Everette’s athleticism and instincts are more aligned with a safety role than a traditional cornerback. He has the speed (4.38 40-yard dash) and ability to move forward, break down passes, and cover in zone, traits that are valuable at safety Yahoo Sports+1. His long arms and ability to stay sticky in coverage could help him in the box, and his experience in zone coverage at Georgia — especially in high-pressure SEC games — shows he can adapt to the demands of a free safety Yahoo Sports.

    Strengths for the safety position

    • Zone coverage expertise: Thrives in zone schemes, which are common at free safety.

    • Physical tools: 6'1", bulky frame, long arms, and strong speed.

    • Experience: Over 1,700 snaps as an outside CB and more than 100 in the slot, giving him a feel for multiple defensive back roles A to Z Sports.

    • Versatility: Could potentially play outside CB or nickel if needed, adding flexibility to a defensive scheme.
    Limitations to address

    • Man coverage struggles: Hasn’t developed a strong one-on-one man toolset, which is less critical at safety but still a factor in coverage versatility A to Z Sports.

    • Press coverage issues: Can be beaten when pressured, so he’d need to develop more press resistance A to Z Sports.
    Team interest and draft outlook
The Las Vegas Raiders have shown clear interest in Everette, seeing him as a “versatile chess piece” who could play safety or even stick outside at CB A to Z Sports. He’s projected as a late Day 2/early Day 3 pick, with Raiders having multiple picks in that range A to Z Sports.

    Bottom line
While Everette was drafted as a cornerback, his athleticism, zone coverage skills, and physical profile make him a candidate who could benefit from a position shift to free safety in the NFL. With the right development, especially in press coverage, he could become a two-way defensive back who excels in both zones and the box.

The speculation I've seen regarding him playing safety has been from people who don't think he can stick at cornerback because he wasn't good in coverage in college.

As I just mentioned, a big part of the reason some people think he might move to safety is because they don't think he will be able to stay at cornerback.

    Same.

Really doesn't make much sense either. Unless that knee is truly more damaged than others are giving it credit for, I would have given him a shot. I don't mind Everette but he is way too inconsistent; even as a Round 3 player. I had a 4th Round Grade on him.
