    Said that earlier.

He’s still a 43 year old QB but hes definitley in a better situation this season.

What else is being a sports fan than building predictions from previous precedents?

In fact that’s basically all sports really is. Identifying paths to preferred outcomes based on previous experiences.

I wouldnt go that far. I see the logic in letting the guys sit and learn behind Rodgers, worked out well for Mahomes but I can also see the side for starting Howard or Allar.

Teams start QBs every year who haven’t taken an NFL snap. You can learn on the job.

Right now I am in the process of trying to convince myself that this ISN'T a wasted season by bringing Rodgers back.

I see the old man isn't happy with only the fights he's having. He is trying to pick more with posters who aren't even debating him regarding anything at the moment.

Is someone here a special education teacher? I don't have the certification for it, but I admire folks who do.

It isn't a wasted season for Howard and Allar. It might actually help them to sit and learn rather than being thrown to the wolves.

That said, this limits opportunities to find out what those two guys can do. Yes, the coaches will still get a year of watching them in practice, but showing what they can do in meaningful games is a different matter entirely.

I don't mind them bringing back Rodgers. It was the best option for this season. I certainly didn't want to see them start Rudolph.

Rodgers was fine last year against average to below average team or defense but against top defense or playoffs team,it was awful to watch....He was 1-5 vs playoffs team last year and it was ugly every games, even the win in New england

I get that, but they should be better with McCarthy as the coach and the additions at receiver and running back.

Yea because starting 43 year old AR who moves as slow as you is not wasting the season.

I’m convinced JEH is actually Art 2 no way there are two people on planet Earth that senile.

Much better weapons for Rodger’s this year and it isn’t even close.

OL should be improved as well.

Staff should be much better as well.

    Looking forward to using MOF.

Other than the change in position coaches, what is the argument for the line being better?

Rocky didn't beat Apollo in the first movie but it didn't feel like a loss, did it? Why? Because Rocky accomplished something, he went the distance. It wasn't a waste of his time even though he didn't win.

This season will only be wasted by starting a QB with ZERO future with the team, and a minuscule chance to win a SB(I would say NO CHANCE but saying 0% would be incorrect). There are no moral victories with Rodgers. Either they win a SB or it was a waste of time. If you believe in your heart of hearts that it's possible, then there's nothing I can say. I obviously don't agree. Merely winning a playoff game(which I don't think they'll do anyway)doesn't interest me. And I'm also not interested in the speculation that Rodgers would be incredibly beneficial for the kids, they have paid experts to tutor them.

Would we win a SB with the rookies or MR, probably not, but at least it would be interesting. It would be fun and new, hoping to see progress towards the future. It could be invaluable experience for perhaps all of them, depending on how it works out. There is the possibility of a moral victory.

But no, let's embrace the Rooney mentality of being happier with our lives because the Steelers at least maintain the appearance of relevancy till the end of the season. Take zero chances and embrace the infinite mediocrity. BORING. They haven't been boring enough for the last 6 years? Let's not forget, all of this is for entertainment. What's entertaining about watching another actual wasted Steelers season? Maybe watching the NBA.

The thing is besides the usual homers the Steelers are no longer relevant. Sad state of affairs for a once proud franchise. Art has run this **** into the ground.

Are you thinking the young QBs would be much better against playoff teams this year?

@Steelersfan43@Steelersfan43 first brought up "NFL caliber " and might have a better idea.

I would think “NFL caliber” would be .30-06. Should be sufficient to take down most roaming the stadiums.

Might consider upping it to .45 or .50 if you just want to be sure.

I know for a fact that Rudolph can go out there and not look like a complete NFL Idiot.

Can you say the same about 2 guys that have never ever, taken a single snap in a preseason or regular season game???

It's possible I suppose but I'm just fatigued. This languishing just seems to have no end. I'd almost take anything as long as it's different. The McCarthy hiring took the wind out of a lot of peoples sails already. Then to bring back Rodgers again just feels like backpedaling, not moving forward. I believe they have very similar chances(very, very little) to win a SB with any combination of QB's they go with. And, with all things being equal(at least in my mind) I would find it much more enjoyable, and believe it to be more beneficial long term to roll without Rodgers. That's all.
