For me, he is on the NFL Mt. Rushmore of all QBs.

Brady included, Otto Graham is the greatest winner of any QB in League History. His level of dominance will not be repeated ever again.

I'm guessing that jeh was looking at PFR.
They only give the record for his 6 years in the NFL: 57-13-1
(Averaging almost 10 wins in a 12 game season is definitely impressive.)

    105-17-4 is clearly wrong.
That is the Browns cumulative record from 1946-1955 over 126 games.
Graham was the starter for only 114 games (not starting for 11 games in the AAFC and 1 during the 1953 NFL season).

Some interesting stats from an old-timey game.
For example, the 1946 season opener against the Miami Seahawks, PFR has the Browns winning 44-0.
Graham did the most passing (5/13 for 109 yards, compared to the 5/18 for 28 yards by Miami team), but the starter was Cliff Lewis (looks like he only played the 1st quarter).
Mario Pugh (MIA) had 2 rushing attempts for -29 yards, so I'm guessing those were "sacks" instead of designed runs.

Sipe and Kosar were legit franchise Qbs, but that was 40 years ago. Its been all downhill since then. A 40 year drought. Thats biblical.

Kosar was hit hard with injuries but when the Browns let him go there was a massive backlash. You could say that was the start of their QB issues.

It was a shame though, he was a great QB

ESPN and Wiki both had him at 105-17-4 but AI believe it or not has his accurate W-L record at 94-17-3.

Franchise history those are the Ravens stats. This Browns franchise has no such history. Baker Mayfield is their best QB ever.

    Just City of Cleveland, yep.

How do we feel about Graham's competition in the AAFC vs. the NFL?

you could just put all 3 teams together since they kinda started in cleveland and expanded from there in an attempt to beat the steelers. :smiley1::cool:

Between the '23 and '24 seasons the Browns went through a total of 7 different starting qb's

The chart doesn’t lie. The Browns have been trending straight down for years.I genuinely feel bad for the fans stuck in Cleveland. High unemployment, endless losing seasons, brown buildings everywhere… and yeah, an abundance of short and plump ladies. Decades of bad football will do that to a city.

I’ll never forget the day I met a die-hard Browns fan at a bar. Deadpan, he looked at me and said:
“You have no idea how lucky you are. Being a Browns fan is like waking up every year knowing you’re about to get kicked right in the shorts. You just brace for it.” His delivery was perfect. I bought the man a drink on the spot. Then I told him: “Every man deserves one good woman, one good pet, and to see his favorite football team win a championship at least once in his lifetime. We clicked glasses. Two rival fans, sharing a moment of truth. Some fanbases suffer beautifully. Cleveland just suffers.
