Maybe Aaron Rodgers is off on another dark retreat. Omar Khan just said he has “no idea” where he is. My take: He’ll probably resurface right after minicamp, like nothing happened.

In the meantime, speculation is running wild — everything from ayahuasca ceremonies to Freemason meetings or some other cult-like gathering. With Rodgers, nothing would surprise me at this point. He is a strange cat.

Seems you have some prejudice for Rogers.
Why discount the value of such great experiences? Mason is nowhere in Rogers solar system. It's sort of like having Pee Wee Herman to mentor these guys vs a HoF'r
NO, I don't think the Steelers would bring in Rogers (but there is a small part that says "yes they would) if either of those 2 took a trajectory similar to Dak's.

    Also being overlooked is camp.
They are bringing in 4 QB's to camp. If Rogers can't keep up, I don't think they would keep him around. So, there's that.
These 4 are going to compete. I suspect, my own hunch, that Allar has a preference. He's QB1 today but that is by default.

It's not my job nor desire to convince anyone of anything. The original post made almost no sense but I get it now.
The Steelers look like they agree with me too. And we all know, the Wild Card is Rogers.

    Whew.... that's a tough one.
Rightly so, Rogers does want to be the guy.
If you asked me 'how does that happen?' I'd say: It really is up to Allar and Howard.
There is zero guarantee that Rogers could direct us to another 10-6 season. We could see 4-13 or 13-4.... though I suspect around 7 to 9 wins.
If neither can play better than Rogers, it will do them good to sit and learn.
At the same time, I think Mike McCathy is not afraid to pull the plug on Rogers.
I also suspect Mike will be upfront with Aaron about this situation. So if Aaron doesn't sign, then no sweat. He would be a great mentor but he's not the future.

There is no way that Rodgers will come back to "compete" for the starting job. If he comes back he will be the starter until forced out by injury or losing something like 5 out of first 6 games. If Rodgers comes back he will be QB #1 followed by Will Howard and then Allar as the 3rd team QB. After pre-season Mason Rudolph will be released if the team can't find a trading partner for him.

If Aaron doesn’t come back, Mason will be the starting quarterback in my opinion. Mason always does well in camp, and will outshine the rookies. If he struggles or gets hurt, he will be replaced right away with #2. If they start a rookie over Mason, and Mason clearly outperformed the rookie in camp, players will feel that this is a throw away season once rookie starts to struggle.

If Rodgers wants $30+ million to play QB there is only one reasonable response:

This is what I'm getting at when He's completely healthy, and not worn out, it would be hard for any Qbs on our team , or any team to beat him out of the position, but later in the season, well that's a whole different kettle of fish.

The Steelers are not a playoff team with Rudolph. They might not win seven games with him. Given that, there is no reason to start him unless Howard and Allar both get their shots and fail.

I think they would still sign him maybe not a 30 million contract, but he could get that much with incentives.

You were wrong in 2023. Going by your track record, you are more wrong than right. I have no idea until 4-5 games into the season and unlike you I don’t make a fool of myself like you did in 2023. However, I do feel optimistic based on 2023 and last year when he played better than Rodgers in that game against Cincinnati in 2025 and had Steelers team score 28 points against Bears in Chicago, a playoff team. He will have more weapons this year. However, I will not come out and make a blatant prediction until I have a sample size of at least 5 games with Mike McCarthy’s offense.

You have 9 years on him on the board and he surpassed you by 6k posts.

I wonder if he is BFT in disguise. No one piled up posts like he could.

As long as there is an incentive for his yards per attempt being north of like 4...I might be able to support it.

I just have no interest in Rodgers struggling to play football again. I think Rodgers was bottom 5 in the league last year in how far he attempted passes, third down conversions, and a couple of other things like that. He was just a horrible inefficient and largely ineffective QB....but he was SO MUCH better than anything since 2019 people think he was incredible last year.

Yes, we know you are co-captain of the Rudolph fan club, the few people who don't realize that he long ago proved that he is nothing more than a backup. The guy will be in his 50s, and you'll still be insisting the team needs to give him one more chance.
