What? Sean McVay stating his case why the Ty Simpson pick was the worst in night 1.

I don't understand what the hell Sean McVay was trying to do here with his comment on their 1st round draft pick. Could he have done anything worse to Ty Simpson? Was He Drunk?

“Let’s make one thing clear, this is Matthew's team. You get a chance to be able to address the backup quarterback. We've got Stetson. We've talked about the importance of Jimmy [Garoppolo].

 

Not even sure if he himself wanted that pick. His body language paints a different picture. I am wondering if Stan Kroenke has anything to do with this.

 

He is afraid it will piss off Stafford.

 

I throw my hands up right now. As I don't understand how these secret meetings with McVay are even legal.

Ty Simpson did not have a formal interview with the Rams.

These meeting were secret meetings and were done by phone, and at the team's facilities. WTF.

 

Rams should be penalized also

 

I read he tried to trade down to the pick before the Jets , but the team on the phone backed out on the deal. This might explain his body language. He wanted Simpson and his cake too.

Lots of stuff happens on the phone and trades are discussed. One GM said 95% of the calls never come to fruition.
