First of all, i'm actually intrigued by our 1st rd pick..... pretty sure the plan is to move Fautanu to the left side and have Max Man the rt spot... we already tried to trade Patrick Queen to the cowboys, which didn't pan out, so we know he's still on the block, and now we are also taking calls for Alex Highsmith ....
There's a very good chance that one or both get traded on day 2 of the draft.... that could potentially score us 2 more 2nd rounders...
If that happens, then I can all but guarantee that one of those picks will be used to nab either Chase Bisontis or Emmanuel Pregnon..
With potentially 3 2nd's i can see us taking a chance on Chris Brazzel and probably Jacob Rodriguez to replace Queen...
I still have faith in Omar to pull such a Khan job and make this scenario happen...
    Stay tuned

I’m hoping for Dunker as a LG in the second.

I feel we can find a WR in the 3rd somewhere.

I am not going be surprised to hear Carson Beck getting drafted by the Steelers in the 2nd round. That would be the ultimate KHAN job on the Steelers for their first 2 picks in the draft.

Using a 1st round pick on a player with Day 2 Talent, followed by using your 2nd round pick on a player with Day 3 Talent. That is the classic KHAN JOB!!!

After that pick I will no longer be surprised.

I am hoping either Hill, Trotter or Rodriguez in the 2nd.

Trade up for Germie is my number one wish. Don't wait on that one. Other than Tate he's my favorite WR in the class. Other guy MAY have higher upside but I believe his floor is really high.

It wouldn't bother me if they moved up for Brazzell or McNiel-Warren either.

Move up and get one though. Brazzell is the only one that might be there at 53.

This is going to sound like a total TN Vols homer take, but I would try to trade up in the 2nd to go after Chris Brazzell. Also, I think whoever drafts Jermod McCoy is going to get a damn good day 1 starting CB. McCoy is better and more talented than the CBs drafted last night.

From what I've read from Pellissero & Rappaport, the concern is not the repaired ACL that kept McCoy out last season. Its a bone plug used to repair cartilage in his knee. Now, I don't pretend to know what that means, but they went on to say that players have had the surgery to repair that bone plug issue and have had successful NFL careers. Apparently the doc who does that particular surgery is on the Cowboys staff. So the concern is that he'll need to have that additional surgery that would sideline him for a full season. Thus, nobody wants to spend 1st round draft capital on a guy who likely won't be on the field for a full season at some point during his Rookie contract.

I could totally see that. If that happens, Khan gets an F grade in the draft regardless of what happens over the the weekend. I'm going on record that Maxwell I. is not going to live up to 1st round expectations. And drafting Beck in the 2nd would be par for the course with the steelers long history of ineptitude when it comes to acquiring QB talent not named Ben so far this century. Not impressed with Khan at all.

I can't believe they passed on player x "steelers fan 1"

Why didn't Khan trade up for player y? "Steelers fan 2"

Bottom line is that even drafting Lemon would've been a mistake.... not talent wise, but financially.... we already have $50 million per season tied up on our #1 and #2 wideouts.... you "ABSOLUTELY DO NOT" use a 1st rd pick on the same position.... you can't add 1st rd money on your #3 wr
The best place to go would've been O-line, or trade down

I am more critical of Khan botching the process, being arrogant by counting chickens before they hatched, getting worked by a far better executive in Roseman, than not getting Lemon.

There were offers to trade out of that spot; they could have gotten this tackle a couple of picks later. They have 12 picks and need to use them to leverage.

That wasn't a 'championship' performance last night, Khan looked like a chump.

This is a deep receiver draft, and there will be plenty on Day 2.

If I had to guess, they'll take the best guard available in round 2, and the best WR available with their first round 3 pick.

Branch being under 5'9 will probably hurt him more than him getting arrested.

Agreed. OT is a huge need. Too much uncertainty there. Jones, who will be gone after this year anyway, might not play at all. And your other guy is a 28 year old who's played in 5 total games in his career.

If you want to blame Kahn for missing on Jones in the first place, that's valid. Had he hit on that pick, things would be different. But, it's too important of a position to just hope you're gonna magically find someone. Those guys are hard to find, and very few top tackles come up for bid in FA. Teams lock those guys up. You can say they reached but that's an opinion, a judgment call. Most "experts" had him slated between us and New England. What isn't a judgment call is that Jones' injury made OT a priority.

I have to wonder how much Lemon was in their plans all along. Most people assumed he'd be gone by then. And when Blake Miller, Freeling, and Iheanachor were all there at #17, they probably assumed one of those guys would make it to #21, so they didn't need to move up. Then Miller and Freeling went off in three picks while Lemon, who they obviously liked, was falling right into their laps. Maybe they didn't move up one spot because even if Lemon was taken by Dallas, which wasn't likely, they were fine taking one of the Tackles they wanted.

Branch will be a typical NFL spin.

If you don't want the player the you "stay away from him due to character issues"

If you do like the player then "we've investigated and found that this was little more than a misunderstanding. However the player in question has chosen to enroll in counselling to ensure that he is able to learn from this unfortunate situation"

I'm thinking OG, DL, or ILB is next.

Btw, only 2 CBs taken in the first round. Both guys I would have been happy to draft.

Plenty of DL left on the board. Maybe trade up for McDonald?
