All the great Steelers in history, the Steelers have ONE PLAYER who has an UNBLEMISHED 7-0 record as a starter in the playoffs. Why is HE not in the HOF?

Judged by wins- THE GREATEST STEELER EVER.

    FAST WILLIE PARKER

Not only has he won ALL PLAYOFF 7 GAMES HE PLAYED IN, but to my point there actually were two playoff losses during his career. He did not play in either game. Patriots 2004 and Jax 2007.

(Okay a little tongue in cheek, but I bet this fun fact is news to most)

Parker was a great, underrated RB for Steelers in their overall modern history since Noll took over as coach. Winning all of his playoff games is a cool stat... but it's like Jake Plummer going 3-0 vs Brady/Belichick, Cam Newton going 3-0 vs Brady/Belichick and Mike Glennon going 3-0 vs Steelers. It's neat... but in the grand scheme of things doesn't mean much. Super Bowl rings are what counts... and Parker has 2.

I think FWP gets overshadowed because the Bus was still on the team.

But IMO, he's the exact kind of back that you want in today's NFL. Strong, durable, and massively explosive.

He had 945 carries in his first 4 years despite not really playing in year one (32 + 255+337 +321). For context, Najee had 1097 carries in 4 years (307 + 272 + 255 + 263). So Parker had almost the same number of carries, but almost didn't play year 1 and he was playing 16 game seasons compared to Najee's 17 games.

Like Najee, Parker got injured in year 5. Then he was out of the league soon thereafter (TBD on Najee here).

But the thing that made Parker the kind of back you'd want in the modern NFL is that he was an explosive play waiting to happen. The durability and the explosiveness are why he's the kind of back you want in today's NFL. Sadly, this is a trait we have mostly ignored in RBs since he left. We like the big guys...but speed isn't a priority in our RB scouting apparently)

Lord knows we needed that big play ability in this game. Excellent blocking too...hopefully we bring in some more big uglies to help RBs get us these kinds of plays next season. Madden specifically credits Faneca, but I think Starks (78) was at least as important here.

But he's never going to be in the Hall because he only had 3 good seasons (and most of a 4th one).

If there's a recent Steelers RB who maybe had a chance to make the Hall it was Bell. Still a short career (I think this will basically be the norm for RBs moving forward), but was considered among the top 2 or 3 RBs in the league for a good amount of time. So kind of borderline, maybe gets in late. Of course, now we find out that he (and his brother) appear to have SA'd their cousin. So **** that guy.
