After watching khan fleece the bears recently, I’m holding out for the Steelers stealing Caleb Williams from the bears.

Well, they probably wouldn't if Arch has a really good 2026, especially so if they need a QB.

Not only is such a trade simply inadvisable, Fernando Mendoza is the furthest thing from a Franchise Signal Caller like Josh Allen and the closest thing to an average starter like Daniel Jones. Others say Jared Goff but that is in pure throwing motion only. I can also see Sam Bradford comps as well.

Overall, this draft, to me, doesn't possess a single First Round QB as a whole. Drew Allar's confidence needs returned to him, Carson Beck is tailor built for the West Coast, Ty Simpson needs to be red shirted and the rest?!... Yikes.

Seems Mendoza is not even considered a sure thing. Steelers have to really do their homework when the time is right and we have the necessary support players in place (Like the Chiefs drafting Mahomes at 10). I dont want to be the colts who drafted luck only to have him retire early from getting pummeled too often.

We should be in better position to draft a Qb in 27. No need to sell the farm and rush things this year

How did the Colts' know he was going to retire early and lose his love for the game ?Also how are the Steelers ever going to use 12 draft picks after making upgrades at several positions (Wr, Safet,y, Cb) during FA?

I believe our roster is in a strong position now. We have made significant additions to both the wide receiver and running back departments. Furthermore, the offensive line has improved with the emergence of Cook, and we have seen great progress in our coaching staff.

On Mendoza he completed 72% of his passes. Tossed 41 touchdowns and threw just 6 interceptions. His yard per pass attempt is very impressive. Equally impressive is his leadership skill and QB smarts.

He looks like a heathy Joe Burrow to me. And he has a good chace at being that type of player in the NFL. A top 16 QB.

The Steelers are not likely going to pick in the top 10 anytime soon unless we trade up. This year we have the draft capital to do so.

So trading up for Mendoza makes sense. I'm not saying we should do so, but I am saying we should keep an open mind and make the Raiders a low ball offer that the dome haired clown owner can't refuse.

I understand he is a new QB, but his initial return was rather low.
