Agreed, I would like to see a emphasis on flags being thrown when a Qb takes off, and the OL then pushes the Defensive players in the back. I've been complaining about this for about 8 years. It's a push in the back, and yet they always act like it isn't happening.

    1. Fire the HC if he fails to win a playoff game after 7 years.
    2. Require an Alzheimer’s test if a HC replies, “the standard is the standard “.
    3. Fire the GM that signs aging declining players over thirty years old to 100 million dollar contracts.
    4. teams must remind rookie kick returners on special teams that a kickoff is a live ball and they have to pick it up.
    5. remind the Steelers every year that you’re allowed to have an offense.
    6. Hold HC responsible for hiring awful assistant coaches.

Would add more excitement to the kicking game. And more importance on the position. I'd like to see it.

Why does it seem that suddenly, there are more and more kickers who can make these uber-long kicks? Did someone develop a new leg steroid or something?! Or are coaches just more likely to try them these days?

It would add another layer of strategy if they took away 3 pts for a missed FG. Or 4 pts.

That would be a brutal penalty for missing. How about 1 pt? I don't see them ever implementing such a penalty for missing a kick though. Or anything that removes points. The league wants more points, not less.

I'd be OK with both of these.

I like banning the tush push more than 4 pointers.

You shouldn't be able to push players forward for yardage IMO.

The play should be considered dead once one or more "friendly" players engage in a "ruck" or "maul" to advance the ball forward. I like Rugby a lot. But it's a different game than football (e.g., no blocking or forward passes).

Or if they keep the tush push, defensive players should also be allowed to push offensive players back and have them lose yardage. I think this would be a stupid rule for football (although it would force players to learn to go to ground because there's a penalty for staying up). Just like being able to block AND push guys forward is a stupid rule for football (the reason that I think rucks and mauls are good in rugby is that you can't also block for guys).

It would be interesting to see if teams would try to pad leads with FGs less.

But certainly not something to try in the NFL first IMO.

I’d like to see them leave the game alone and actually get back to solid hitting and tackling. Let the players that complain about it follow Joe Burrow on his flag football quest.

Well 4 pts for a long FG makes sense, in a sense, since after all, it is called Football. But having it count 2/3rds the value of a TD is goofy IMO. Then you'd have some thinking that a 60+ yd TD should be worth more than say a 1/2 ft TD? Might as well just turn it all into Arena Football.

It's like anything else, it seems impossible until someone else does it, and then the new so called impossible becomes the new measuring stick.

I would like that Idea, but not 3, but at least take away 1 point for a miss, and if You have no points when you next score it will be taken away. LoL. You talk about some nervous field goal kickers then. LoL

    I would love that.

Right now, a field goal at 30 yards is a chip shot for an easy three points 95% of the time. Nobody questions it and usually just chalks it up as 3 points coming. The only emotion is on that rare miss when people are thinking.....how did you miss that? Compare that to a 62 yard FG attempt. Everyone is paying attention. Why? Because that is hard and the outcome is not a 95% chance. It is significantly harder and the points should reflect that.......IMO

Looks like 86 wardsway and I are the boomers.

No to 4 points and hell to the no for docking points, this ain’t fantasy football.

It became fantasy football when You couldn't hit Wrs coming across the middle too hard, or when You had to stop hitting Qbs too hard , and lay them down gently, and to one side.
