    He was so bad that Jonnu Smith became the defacto 3rd RB late in the season.

    James Conner's biggest problem with the steelers was his durability, and at that time Tomlin was anti load management like crazy with his running backs...that stopped in 2022.

    Glad to read this, I think KJ got a raw deal. Hopefully he can turn it around this year instead of it being a wasted draft pick.

    I think it only makes sense for the new coach to do his own assessment of the talent regardless of what the previous coach thought of certain players.

    I loved Tomlin, but he did have a bug up his butt about some really talented players that were in his doghouse and couldn't get out. A couple went to other teams and became great players.

    This doesn't mean that Mike Tomlin was wrong about Wilson and Johnson. I'm just glad that we get to see what a fresh set of eyes sees in a couple players that can't get any traction. Maybe Tomlin had these guys pegged right, but it will be interesting to see if McCarthy sees something more in them and can get it to translate to the field.
