Prediction: Beck will be a Steeler

Beck has a professional QB size at 6'5" and 235. Manziel was 5 inches shorter and 35 lbs lighter than Beck.

 

I think players like Beck who has already graduated they probably take some online classes.

 

Anything more than a 4th round or lower on any of these QB's would be a waste of a pick. Except Simpson,

 

I strongly dislike mid-round QB picks.

Take them in the 1st (preferably very early). Or take them at the end of the draft.

Those mid-round picks have value for picking other positions. But since QBs always get over-drafted, those mid-round guys are usually the Mason's (3rd round) or Josh Dobbs' (4th) of the world. Not terrible, but ceiling is career backup with the possibility of stringing together a couple good games if they get a chance to start.

And backup QBs don't have much value IMO since you're season is basically over if you need them for much more than a game or two. And there's usually a surplus of cheap high-pedigree guys you can pick up off the scrap heap if you're looking for a backup. For example: Mason and Dobbs.

Would we really have been worse off if we stayed with Landry Jones instead of using these two picks? Or just picked up whoever was available who was the equivalent of Mason or Dobbs after we let them go?

If one of these guys we like is available in the 6th, then fine. Just like Howard.

 

Don't like Beck at all. Don't see the talent, don't like the person. The size is there but that's about it. I won't complain if they burn a 4th or later but I wouldn't.

 

I am not a fan.

Beck is good enough for a team to draft in rounds 3-6 in this year's weak QB class.

But consider this:

He is a 6 year super senior QB. As such his ceiling is close to being reached compared to all college QB's!

He was run out of Georgia in favor of a younger QB. He was.

He isn't very accurate and has thrown 12 Interceptions in 2025 and 2026 - 24 interceptions in the last two years. This comes out to about 1 interception per game started in this span. RED FLAG.

He is according to my UM connection ( I am based in South Florida ) he is a playboy type of QB who drove a Lamborghini Urus Performante and a Mercedes-AMG, which he had stolen. RED FLAG. Playboy QB's are not popular in the locker room and IMO lack some toughness required to be a good professional QB. Beck spent his time on South Beach getting his you know what sucked, hardly spending a night in with the playbook!

He is not good at hitting moving targets at all. Far from it. RED FLAG.

IMO he is close to a slug in the pocket and easy to sack in the NFL. Seldom does he create 2nd chances. If his initial read isn't open there he struggles too much.

Does he get rid of the ball quickly? Yes he does. Is he a smart player? I think so. He has a + arm.

Now I have seen him enough to formulate the above opinion on him. No way do I want the Steelers to draft him. He was badly exposed by Indiana.

Wrong. He said he had no classes and then later backtracked to try and do damage control. But it does align with your pattern of only posting other people's X tweets and never have an independent thought of your own. You are at least consistent.

 

I have found this to be a good thing

 

This is where some people get confused about what really matters when evaluating a player, and what doesn't.

If I was 23-years-old and single with millions of dollars at my disposal, I would certainly be living it up and having a good time.

A 23-year-old hanging out with beautiful women that want to explore sexual things with him is not a red flag. If he had 3 kids with 3 different women, then there would be something to talk about.

Having a Lamborghini and a Mercedes does not disqualify you as being a good person or from being a good quarterback.

Having two luxury vehicles stolen isn't a red flag and will not be held against a player, and it has no influence on his play as a quarterback or makes you question anything about him as a person.

Nothing Joel is claiming in his post proves that Beck didn't study his playbook. Beck had all day and night to study his playbook. Being out and having a good time doesn't mean he didn't study his playbook. He had plenty of time to do his work.

This is the type of nonsense that doesn't mean anything, and has no business being mentioned as negatives against a player.

LoL. It doesn't matter if it was color the picture with crayon, and try to stay in the lines 101. They still have to spend a certain amount of time in those classes.
Put it this way.
If You had to spend 5 hours 5 days a week shopping with your wife, or if You had no responsibility to do anything else ,but play the Guitar. Which way would be the easiest to do , and get better at the Guitar??
It's not the classes in itself that they take , it's the whole time they actually have to do it that Beck didn't have to.
