Carson Beck isnt a Pro though. Not yet anyway. He will be drafted for certain but until then, he is still a College Athlete.

To refute your other claim about him needing lots of things, the same applies with every QB. However, I stated two in particular; the right Head Coach and the right Organization. I specifically stated these two for having both greatly increases a young QBs chances for success. Drake Maye is the current best example of these. Bo Nix another.

For your final claim about how is he going to work without specific personnel and coaching?! Answer; traits and tools. There are traits and tools that translate to the NFL; regardless of level. This is important as such variables are dependent on the individual rather than external forces.

Beck has shown he has both the traits and tools needed to be an NFL QB. How good he can be?! That remains to be seen.

With the new reality of the transfer stuff and all the extra eligibility; guys aren’t really college athletes either.

He doesn’t go to 4 classes a term. He’s likely not social with a bunch of 19 year old undergrads.

He plays football. Was paid to do so.

    He’s a pro.

    Not quite.

Again, College Football and the NFL are worlds apart. The fields are different. The rules are different. The Football itself is bigger in the NFL than it is in college. Most notably, the overall skill gap is far greater.

College Football and the NFL are as about as different as the taste of a Ribeye from the local steakhouse vs an A5 Waygu Steak from a Michelin star rated one. The differences are that massive.

He’s just getting paid, you’re not a pro until you play in the NFL. Thats where you separate the men from the boys. We’ll find out which one Beck is.

If he’s not good enough to step up to play full time pro ball when coming from full time paid football; when will he be?

This all sounds like a ton of overthinking. Oh he COULD be good enough. Either he is or he isn’t.

If a guy plays multiple years of full time big time college football, at least one of them paid with no other responsibilities, and he’s still MAYBE a mid round caliber player how much more development is there really to be had?

How is this just not Pickett 2.0?
