Can anyone explain to me what a "slant route" is?

Some things that I think (hope?) will be different.

    1) Obvious...use the MOF.
    2) A lot more quick developing plays - call it west coast, but the same thing that opponents always do to neutralize the impact of Watt.
    3) The offense will look different week to week depending on the opponent. They will gameplan to take advantage of D weaknesses.
    4) We'll see one or two things new each week that the opponent hasn't seen on film before.
    5) They have this guy, number 88 I think. We might get to see him get the ball once in awhile.

And my one hot take. One of KJ or Wilson will actually contribute this year. Not a big role, but find a niche that works well when used.

Will be interesting to see the product on the field Sunday because the old adage you play like you practice didnt look like they practiced at all.

Of course it’s entirely possible the same problems show up that we are used to seeing as mojo has been saying.

They used a lot 11 personnel of course ...Used a lot of motion to determine man or zone..Lots of slant/swing/arrow route combos from the 2 WR side.. This concept forces the LB to cover the slant in the zone and the swing or arrow RB has the flat ..Who covers the RB or has force in the flat as they call it ? Then the outside WR can run a deep post , a comeback route , or a Jet , basically any route that forces coverage deep ...So does the safety have the flat does the backside LB have the flat ? It's just a triangle route tree with correct spacing forcing the D to spend a lot of man power to that side...

According to how the Defense spends will tell the backside WR the weakest part of the field on his side he becomes your zone buster..And yes that can be a 9 route if he is better than the Safety on that side or a simple find the correct weakness in that zone..

They did a lot more of course even how they ran and where they ran to ..All designed to stretch the Defense..

That's why MM likes WRS who can be inter changed because the right combos create 1 on 1 and if you find a mismatch you get the guy who takes the most advantage of that in that spot ...ie backside Safety is 6 ft. 210 you get Metcalf in that spot things of that nature from all the spots even the RB spot.. Meaning change of pace RB with more speed ..lol
