wow. we're talking about 6th round QB pick. Yeah there are some finds in late rounds however it is not the norm. He was there in the 6th round for a reason. I just don't get this infatuation with Howard. You can't play your 3rd QB unless the other two are injured. Yet there are people here saying he's the guy we need behind center. Good grief

I prefer to play a QB we don't know what to expect from, even if it's very possible he'll be terrible but I take that over a 42-year-old QB who has a very low ceiling at this point in his career and has massive problem against playoffs team since 2022

Is it infatuation as much as lack of options?

Whats your plan? The other options arent all that enticing.

Howard does some things really well on tape, has prototypical size for the position and he also played his best ball when the stakes were highest. I just dont get the aversion to playing the guy simply because of where he was drafted.

I read the first sentence twice and then moved to the second

The second sentence is what should and will happen

No aversion to playing him ota, camp preseason and see where he is

Total foolishness to plan to use him as number one at this point in time

There needs to be a proven vet and if Howard beats him out fantastic

He doesn't have to have a great season for the Steelers to compete for a championship. Manning didn't have a great season the year the Broncos won it all with him at quarterback.

Yep. Broncos had the top defense in 2015 with once in a generation OLB Von Miller.... who was as good as Polamalu and Harrison in their primes.

He was drafted then for a reason and hasn't had the opportunity to show all that much since then due to the injury that wiped out most of his rookie season.

They also got incredibly lucky in facing the Steelers with Fitzgerald Toussaint at running back because Bell and Williams were both out.

Broncos D owned Brady and Cam Newton in subsequent weeks following victory over Steelers.

It's not based on simply where he was drafted. He's a QB. We have no good options at this point. So if the plan is, hell throw him in there and see what happens, that's not much of a plan either. The team needs to address the QB position with a plan. Throwing a guy in there that has not even taken a snap at this point is a pretty shaky plan. Maybe he'll be the next Tom Brady. But I'm betting he is not.

But the odds of Rodgers having an adequate season is greater than the odds of Howard having an adequate season

IMO it's utterly foolish to say anyone, including Rodgers, or whomever we draft , if we do, is the number one Qb until after OTAs, and preseason.

Which is why it it best to draft a QB early in 2026. Let them compete in camp and may the best man win.

That had to be the worst season by a Qb for a team that won a SB in the history of the NFL. If there was one worse, I can't think of it.

Last year wasn't prime Rodgers but he won 10 games and had a TD to Int ratio over 3 to 1.

He was too limited, similar to Roethlisberger in 2021.Ceilling is way too low and Rodgers struggle big time against playoffs team in the last few years

If there's someone worth drafting early at QB I'm always good with this strategy.

My guess is that there probably won't be someone worth drafting in the 1st by the time we're on the clock.

Would love it if there was, but I don't want KP 2.0

Improve the OL and the WR room and then see what happens.

    Exactly

It’s like the board members who incorrectly suggest Pickett was promised he would be the number one quarterback the year he ran away
