Yes, it's a bad draft for QBs.

Howard was there so the Steelers said why not it's only the 6th round. I would only draft Simpson, Allar or Beck if they are available in the 5th or later. There is no definite answer at QB, unless Howard turns out to be something. As for veterans, Flacco, Cousins and Garoppolo are available. If the Steelers badly want a veteran then they should grab whichever is the cheapest.

 

I have a feeling that many people will say it was a bad pick if it doesn't work out, and not he couldn't develop him.

That's my problem with Simpson not enough playing time, and looked bad in the big games.
My problem with Nussmeier is he was supposed to have this great processor, and I didn't see it.

 

Boy not me give me a Joe Montana or Tom Brady any day over physical freaks like Anthony Richardson or Justin Fields.

 

Bloggers just making up stuff the Steelers go to Georgia every year because they have a loaded roster, they saw Allar at the Combine and can have him come for a pre-draft visit.

The dude whose name sounds like a bad German light beer and the dude from Bama or even Beck are super behind where Brady and Montana were when they came out. And all three are older, I believe.

Agreed. And that is my worry as a fan. I just would rather watch Howard or Old Man River in 2026. At least I can hope that 2027 brings something better.

I do not know if I have the patience to watch Carson Beck for 3 years.

 

That is a well known fear.
You can bet the higher the pick, the longer they will try.

 

Beck does some great things, but he does some damn awful things also, and some of those things won't work without having some of the best talent available for him. Of course if they pick him , I hope I'm totally wrong about him, and everyone can say, boy you were sure wrong, and he's awesome.

 

Time to put Old Man Rogers out to pasture. He screwed around last year until he finally signed, just as the Steelers were in process of moving on. Well guess what, Seymour....Old Man Rogers is at it again, stringing the Steelers along for another season. Dump this chump.

 

For a quarterback it takes a lot more of what is above the shoulders than below

maybe I’m just getting grumpy but I’m entirely suspicious of these dudes who transfer 7 times and play a bunch of extra college seasons. Of course they look good in their 6th or more college season.

Athleticism should be the icing on the cake.

The issue is that it's easy / possible to scout for athleticism.

And no one has any idea how to scout NCAA QBs to see if they can do anything in the NFL.

 

AR still staying in shape and they have got him 2 Weapons already ..I think he needs 2 more and he may play 2 more seasons.
