I see nothing wrong with it. He has been totally, and miserably wrong before.
So no need not making money out of being wrong. This would be totally different if people, or teams are dumb enough to use what he says.

 

Simply saying what he believes and being wrong isn't great, but it is honest. Giving opinions based on who pays him, however, is not. We can be wrong with integrity.

 

Yeah, these analysts present themselves as expert analysts and therefore by that definition, honest. If they're being swayed by management/money then what theyre presenting as honest opinion is actually false misinformation.

 

All I'm trying to say is if a guy is already thinking a certain player is good for a certain position, at a certain round, I see no problem with taking money to push a guy you already believe should be there.
Example: He thought S. Sanders should go high even though he was wrong. How bad would it be for him to except money for a position he already felt.

With Hoffman inboard, I don't see any clear massive holes. I'd love to see them just pick bpa based on how the board falls. Definitely need to avoid panicking and going WR in round 1 in the event there is a run on WR.

 

Guy is putting out info but isn't selling it to anyone. No different than any other website with a big board.

Kind of a Catch 22 here. Let me explain.


Having a high floor but lower ceiling usually means the tools are there but the athleticism will always leave one wanting more. Such cases are positional dependent. Wide Receiver, Center (usually) and seldom EDGE along with QB are the go to options for such a category; Germaine Bernard, Connor Lew, Reuben Bain and Fernando Mendoza being such examples. Problem is, such cases are exceptions to the rule; not the rule itself.


For the other way, basically the same thing but different positions. Such players have either every trait a coach could want or close to it but the coaching and system fit will be the deciding factors. OT, IOL (Center usually but not a deal breaker imo), IDL, EDGE and CB fit here. QB technically can as well but the QB Position is a group that needs its own set of rules as that position must be judged by a completely different set of factors. As for examples, Monroe Freeling, Francis Mauigoa (better for IOL), Keldric Faulk and Tacario Davis (his tape is a lot better than others are giving it credit for). Much like the previous example, exceptions to the rule but not the rule itself.



Overall, teams want balance overall. More specifically, find the players who's traits and tools fit your system both the best and most consistent while being the most proficient.

 

So if I understand you correctly, for example, Jones was a coaching/fit problem not a player problem?

 

To fully answer your question, I attribute Jones' slow development due to a combination of discipline on his part along with a coaching issue on Pat Meyers. Jones was turning the corner last season until he got hurt. If anything, from the first Browns meetup all the way to the Bears game, that was the best stretch of games Broderick had played his entire career.


Overall, Jones' gifts at the Left Tackle position cannot be faulted. Whether or not he will play again (I sadly dont believe he will) remains to be seen.

...and TRUST the tape. IF he is the guy, a good football player then be thankful he ran a 4.6 and get him a round later than first thought.

This is where teams fail, over and over, taking a good or bad 40, I mean 1/10th of a second in either direction, come on, and overriding whether the player is a PLAYER or just an athlete running into his own teammates and always out of position.

If his tape isn't that good and he's slow, then yeah, pass, unless he falls to round 6 or 7 and maybe a top special teams guy.

 

So because of Tomlin and his keep-it-close so we can lose it in the 4th quarter approach.

If he had the entier All-PRO team on both sides of the ball, we'd still be 9-8 and probably have all of ONE blowout win on the year.

How if he already thinks a player should go that high would taking money change any of that??

 

Makes me wonder of Warren's future. I mean they keep bringing in other guys, and drafting other rbs. We shall see what the new HC does.
