I will always remember some crazy take by Skip Bayless during that draft!

Fans were saying after the Ravens bad start they were going to go on a run and win the division last year.

It don't matter...They were a 8-9 team(8-7 in the game who was not the steelers) in 2025 vs 12-5 in 2024(11-4 in the game who was not the steelers)

Skip Bayless and Mel Kiper Jr. would still vehemently disagree with you.

That's the crazy thing about evaluating NFL draft prospects, an average guy on the street can be better at it than a so-called "pro".

Not an average guy by any means but when it comes to both Offensive and Defensive Lineman, Brandon Thorn of Trench Warfare is a man whom I can count on. I still evaluate on my own but if I ever am unsure about a prospect, he is the first person I turn to. Dude is a beast when it comes to scouting the bigs up front.

Very few people I trust and respect when it comes to scouting. Brandon is one of them and I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn more about both Offensive and Defensive Line play in the NFL.

They almost did. If it wasn't for a bad no TD call on Likely, they probably would've.

i wonder if some of these pro analysts are told to push certain players by the management. To promote certain colleges or satisfy quotas, and so we don't really get an honest personal assessment.

Agreed. I did not understand they hype at all. I remember when people thought Vince Young was going to be the man. Haha.

That sounds good and all. But how do you fix it when there's not a clear fix in the 2026 draft?

They drafted a guy a season ago who they thought could be the answer to the QB position and he hasn't played a snap in the NFL and was injured last off season. Should they just discard that attempt?

What other QB is available that could be a fix to the QB situation?

Steelers should pass on a QB in this upcoming draft. Draft CB, DL, WR and OL. Get a cheap free agent QB to roll with Rudolph and Howard.

While I don't disagree. If I were forced to bet $1,000, I'd bet that the Steelers will start Rogers and eventually insert Howard. And I'm not fully against that either. I don't think Howard, Rudolph or any cheap free agent QB is going to outperform Rodgers to kick the season off. And if the Steelers are still in a win now mindset, that's what they'll do unless Rogers throws a wrench in that plan.

You got that right, there's definitely no quick and easy fix. Franchise QBs are hard to come by, and the Steelers constantly picking at #21 doesn't help matters, the best QB prospects are always gone by then. Crazy as it sounds, the Steelers having a bad 2026 could be the best thing possible for them in the long term. Unlikely that will happen though if Rodgers returns and stays healthy. I mean, you could try to make a blockbuster trade for someone like Justin Herbert or Trevor Lawrence, but that would be extremely unlikely. Even if you could make a trade like that, it doesn't mean you'll ever win anything with them. Realistically, you just have to hope that the Steelers can eventually draft a kid that can help make them serious contenders again.
