Markel Bell would be one helluva steal. Furthermore, this is the first Offensive Tackle the team has looked at. March 25th will be very telling for that is Alabama's Pro Day.

Ty Simpson is one. Kadyn Proctor is the other.

Caldwell was a combine GOD! RAS score 10.00
It will be curious to see how much Caldwell is going to jump up the board, because of his combine numbers.

Keep in mind, this doesn't mean he can actually catch a football. :)

Yes, athletic traits are nice but let’s prioritize football players first. I believe all this focus on athletic freaks has contributed to poor draft picks but they have seemed to have started moving away from that in recent drafts.

He had over 1,000 yards 10 TDs with 19.4 YPC in 2024, you can't coach speed ;).

I am fine with drafting a couple athletic freaks on day 3. Those are your back up/ST/project type guys anyways. Its fine to take a shot here and there on someone with all the tools that doesn't have the game. The issue I would have is taking too many shots on "athletic freaks" that aren't football players on day 1 or 2 in the draft. Those are players that need to hit at a high rate, and littering your draft with too much "potential" and not enough "polish" is a recipe to miss too much. Caldwell would be a fine shot in the dark in round 5-6.

I think he's a day 3 guy, but one I like for sure. Seems like the kind of corner we like. We still need depth at the position, even if our starters look set for a few years. You never know, he might end up becoming a really nice player eventually.

just seems his production went down when he moved up to FBS but gotta start somewhere

I'd take Kendrick Law on name alone :smiley1:

Hopefully Law > Green when it comes to Kendricks on the OL...

I could see Beck being one of our 3rd round picks. He's considered the most pro ready of the QB's after Mendoza, which he should be after playing 7 years of college ball.
