It's a 2.5 hour drive, man. Going to airport, boarding a private charter to Cleveland, getting on transport to the stadium or hotel in Cleveland, etc. is going to take longer than riding a bus.

Five stalls but this could be due to them not having enough space rather than them being cheap.

I called it a chance at the SB.......but really, a team that is not a dumpster fire might be a better analogy. Money probably trumps everything, but who really wants to go to one of the teams that seems to fail every year, no matter how good they should be? The Jets, Panthers, Giants, Dolphins.....etc. Some of these teams find their way to the bottom of the barrel every year. Who would want to be part of a losing culture if they have a choice to go elsewhere?

It is all about routine. Players have a game routine, of going to the airport, getting on the plane, and then spending the night before the game in a hotel. You throw the routine off with a long Bus ride some players will never be able to get back into their standard road game routine.

I think the break in their routine shows on Sunday when players just seem to play down to Cleveland's level.

LOL, I am assuming you think the team is flying coach, with the long delays through security, the long boarding times and the small seats in economy. :)

The dont have a private plane

They charter and there is a limit to first and business class seats

And time wise to Cleveland it would be foolish

These players that come from big schools like Alabama, Ohio State, etc want to be pampered.

Either Art Rooney II is not as well off as we think.

    OR

He is a tight fisted, cheap man who cares not about rating last in the NFL on team facilities.

    Maybe both

But keep in mind ARII only owns 1/6 of the team and only gets 1/6 of the vote on how income is spent

The other partners are not involved in the football operations and may be just taking the money

I read somewhere that the Steelers had a $127M income before taxes. Based on a $6B valuation that is only about 2% return.

It could be sold and a lot more money could be made with that $6B so it would not appear to be a function of being cheap

Tell Rooney KFC has cheap chicken on Tuesdays (8-piece legs and thighs for $10). Get that for the boys and we will surge in the polls, LOL.

I`m about to go out the door and pick up some myself.

    https://licensedsports.blogspot.com/2022/03/what-are-revenues-and-expenses-for.html

This is dated, but the Packers are the only NFL team that has to make its books public.

    Summary:
    Total Revenue: $506 million
    Total Expenses: $448 million
    Gross Profit: $58 million

What I do not see accounted for in this ledger is the cash that has to be put in escrow for all guaranteed money in any player contract. That is not an annual expense. The whole nut has to be banked when the deal is filed with the league. At least, I think that is correct. But that could be a big chunk out of any liquid cash that ownership has lying around.

Again, the Rooney's are not poor, but if you peer into the numbers, you can see why they may not be able to make it rain money on the facilities. Not saying they are right....but you can begin to see the logic of it from their side of the table.
