His name is being linked to trades again. Apparently the Steelers tried to acquire him last season.

As long as the price isnt too steep, I’d be all for that.

BTJ and DK is a big time duo at WR.

He had a down year last season but I think he was injured all year, think he had a similar wrist injury as Hill the year before.

Not sure why Jags would do this though since they have announced Hunter will spend the bulk of his time playing CB. Unless rumors of him and Liam not getting along are true.

Pass they will likely want multiple picks for him, and he was dropping passes last season.

Only catching 50% of his targets is not something to brag about.
He was #8 in most drops.
    36% in contested catches.

He was not injured all year. He played in 14, while last year he played in 16.

Yeah I'll pass unless they want a 6th for him. Dudes just a #3.

He’d be a decent replacement for CA3 but not worth much pick wise

He is not much of #2

Not sure why the Jags would be trying to trade a player that is only 23 years old and 2 years into his rookie contract?

And neither are the people in Florida.
    https://nfltraderumors.co/no-indication-jaguars-are-open-to-trading-wr-brian-thomas-jr/

Although, if the Steelers want to swap out our bust of a WR Roman Wilson, who is also still on his rookie contract, I would have no problem with that. :)

He was on the block last season, Jags deny it of course. They just didnt get an offer they liked.

My guess is there is a problem between him and Liam, whether its a personal problem between the two or schematically he’s not getting Liams system I dont know.

He has a lot of talent but clearly a disappointing year. Pending the ask he could be worth the risk. We need WR help desperately.

The Jags are one of those up and coming teams... . I have a hard time believing that they would trade a major cognitive in the machine just as they are hitting stride

Funny, for a while there I thought you were describing Roman Wilson's situation.

I wonder if Roman is on the block this offseason?

Roman Wilson and a Day 3 pick for Brian Thomas Jr???

I get this vibe as well.

I like BTJ, have since his draft. He was a guy part of me secretly hoped would find himself to us despite the other needs and players that were in the mix.

I get why the Steelers would have some interest in BTJ but I am with Dave Bryan on this one. Trade a third plus either a fifth or sixth first. Nab that strong route runner soon thereafter.

This all said, Jacksonville would have to accept those terms. If not?! Keep it moving Omar Khan. BTJ is not worth a 2nd Round Pick in any way, shape or form whatsoever. Many of the issues he had at LSU he still possesses even now; the biggest one being his contact balance is average and something that is damning for a Wide Receiver of his size.

Unless Travis Hunter is about to be a full time Wide Receiver; something that the Jaguars shut down already. If trading away BTJ is the goal, the only receivers I can think of that can replace his skillset, in the Liam Cohen Offense would be the likes of Denzel Boston, Chris Brazzell or Omar Cooper Jr.

Any one of these would work. Problem is, of the three, Brazzell fits the best and isn't worth a first barring something unforeseen.

I'm drafting WR's I don't want someone else's castoffs, we made that mistake with Metcalf and paid him $150M, they're being traded for a reason, it's because they suck or they're bitches.

Let's bring in some fresh, high character guys who want to play, not some complacent "I want my next bag" cry babies who can't catch the ball.

Keep the picks, it's the best resource we have, use them to rebuild the team properly, this team isn't winning with another WR who will soon want $$$$. We've got one who is a massive burden already.

If you have to use a pick or two to move up, fine.

I'd wait to see what we can land at WR in the draft. There are a lot of good ones coming out, and I would bet we draft more than one. Lots, and lots of great Wrs have come from many different rounds.

I'm seeing Thomas to the Steelers for a 5th rd. Pick this year. If true I'd take that. Of course its the net, so there's that.

we're drafting a WR high. wouldn't want to spend capital on him with WR being the deepest draft position

This is the type of swing a team in the Steelers position should take, assuming the compensation stays within the bounds of reason.

This isn't even about this particular player. I just want to see them acquire a young and talented established player if they can get them at a reasonable price. Get a quality piece in free agency and then kill it in the draft.

Twelve draft picks to use to take a ton of players or to move up or down to target a few players they covet.

If Thomas is having trouble with understanding the Jags’ scheme, would he end up being just a more expensive receiver than Wilson for A Rod to shun?

I’m not say that’s Thomas’ issue, but it has been speculated.
