Yeah makes more sense to grab a day 1 starter WR if one is available (or a DB) than a day 1 starter LG, due to costs associated with position. That said, the top OG could be available at 21, whereas the top 3 WRs are probably already gone..so it's kind of a wash in that sense. What does FA offer? If weak at one and strong at the other, fill via FA with strong pool of candidates and draft the other due to weak FA pool.

Hence at 21 you draft the players with the highest potential impact

There are options. We could move Jones to guard, start Anderson, use free agency or the draft to address the need. We already upgraded the OL coaching!

So again, moving Broderick from Tackle to Guard will make him 100s of times worse. He already has poor hand placement even after years of being in the NFL. Broderick also hasn't gotten much better at his leverage; a must for any Offensive Lineman but doubly so for Guards as Leverage is a massive pre requisite for that position. Broderick's biggest issue still though is his overall lack of balance.

One can get away with that, particularly Broderick in this case due to his insane overall athleticism, agility and speed on the outside. On the inside?! He is going to get mauled alive.

As for the rest of the suggestions?! Pittsburgh has given Spencer Anderson every opportunity to allow himself to prove whether or not he is worthy of starting. He has done well... as a sixth Offensive Lineman. As a full time starting guard? Way too light in the pants. He would have to put on weight and it is fair to question whether or not he would be as athletic.
