1900 very early DeNiro movie. Real long movie. Over 5 hours. Came out 1976. About Italian landowners in 1945 right after the war.

I didn't make it halfway through. Thought I'd check it out since I'm headed over there this year but I sure ain't going to that part.

You asked. Apologies for hijacking: One guy I worked for was notoriously cheap. Never wanted to put any money back into maintenance. On one trip, we were fishing almost 600 miles below San Diego and the plan was to fish down and back in about a week. One morning, we hade a jigstrike on tuna and, when I stopped, as I came through the salon, I could smell exhaust smoke. Checked the engine room and saw that the clamp which held the two piece exhaust pipe had broken and exhaust smoke was just filling the engine room. Both ends of the exhaust were flanged and held together with a turbo clamp. I figured it would be no big deal because I had a drawer full of turbo clamps. Well, I tried all 30 or so clamps and none of them fit. I had shut down that engine and I told the owner we should go to Cabo San Lucas to fix it as that was about 120 miles away vs. ><600 miles back to San Diego. He refused and said, "We'll just go home on one engine! The one I shut down was the one that had the pto for the stabilizers. Since that was a really stupid plan, I went back down and found 2 pair of vise grips. I was able to "fix" the pipe by putting vise grips on either side of the flanges to hold the exhaust together. We made it home like that and I had to hammer the vise grips off and throw them away.

That's been discussed. A lot of us who were in Cabo in the early 80s and before have always talked about writing a book of stories and calling it, "As the Anchor Drags"
