    I’m a Penn State fan

First thought I had was good. Maybe now we can beat Ohio State because their offense will suck.

Can Jonnu Smith re-apply to college?

    Let's hope so.

Its an excellent move. He has really good run game concepts and play action schemes. His offense should work well in college, particularly since he will have a bevy of skill position players that are among the best, if not the best, in the entire country. Feels like a similar move in Columbus that worked well in Matt Patricia. Sometimes proven NFL schemes that are coached well with high end athletes just work in college. It sure beats having Ryan Day call the plays. Though, Day has done a really great job with his carousel of coordinators.

Disagree. Smith will do great in Columbus. Established running and PA schemes will go a long way in college football. Plus he gets to have Sayin, Jackson, Smith, and Henry Jr... There's no reason to fret as a Buckeye fan. Its actually quite a good fit

Chip Kelly is an awesome OC in college, but terrible in the NFL. Matt Patricia fell out of favor in the NFL before doing great work in Columbus on the defensive side of the ball. Just because someone didn't light the world on fire with poor QB play and poor weapons in Pittsburgh, doesn't mean he will fare poorly with awesome weapons in college.

He will ruin Julian Sayin and totally eff up Jeremiah Smith's final year. What the heck were the Buckeye's thinking?

I do have a lot of faith in Day after the Matty hire. Maybe he'll see J Smith on the depth chart and think it's Jonnu.

    LMAO

It might also help turn the Buckeye running attack into a feared beast again. Chip Kelly ran it well (though, he's always done that), but it seems that Day and Hartline kinda didn't... Could be a bit of a cultural shift in the running game department, while still utilizing the outside weapons they have on offense.

Probably better to take the OSU OC job than it is to be HC of a bad college team. One year at OSU got Chip Kelley hired back into the NFL. If Sayin, Smith, and the rest of the blue chip talent at OSU can put together a sweet season offensively, I’m sure there will be plenty of options for him to get back into the NFL, or into a good HC gig.

I thought today's decision would have opened some of your eyes that the Arthur Smith's and Matt Canada's and Todd Haley's and all the rest were never the problem.

Problem is those who make the final decision. Those same people have accepted the comfortable, stubborn way to live. At the expense of idiots like us who keep supporting it.

So, until people in Pittsburgh keep the stadium empty and we stop watching on TV, this is still supported and permission to continue to let them make their stubborn, unfufiling decisions.

    And that's that.

Good luck to him. They tried something and got more juice for the squeeze for what they had on offense talent wise imo.

With the new HC coach that is wet coast offense oriented, he would have been looking elsewhere anyways.
