ok explain why Shula won their one on one multiple times? explain why shula is in the post season and winning games, while Flores is at home on the couch.

look I like flores for him being agrresive, blitz, etc. but Shula is not no idiot.

The 49ers offense were depleted by injuries and it was against the best defense in the nfl(with Houston)on the road. They had no chance from the start. It was a crazy coaching job by Shanahan and their staff to have a 12-5 season and winning a playoffs game with a depleted roster

Hopefully the FO won't screw this up and let Baltimore get their hands on Jesse Minter. JM is the best coach available and the Steelers need to get him in and get him signed.

Some good OC's are available now for interviews. Some guy named Brady. Another guy is Kubiak who is still ill in the playoffs. These two are excellent candidates for head coach.

I prefer an offensive coach, but I'll be okay with a defensive coach if that coach doesn't handcuffs the offense and doesn't try too hard to win solely on defense.

The biggest problem, though, is if we have a young QB and a very good OC that OC will become a head coach very quickly, and we'll have to replace him, which isn't always easy... Just ask Baker Mayfield and the Bucs

But I can still live with a defensive coach; it's possible to win with one if he's really good!

Maybe for the OC job. I don't think he is a consideration for HC.

Will be disappointed if Steelers hire a DC. In the year 2026... Steelers need a 21st century offense.

The problem is that any good OC always gets snatched up for a head coaching job, and the young QB's development is hampered by having to change the scheme.

Jalen Hurts has been to two Super Bowls, but has changed OC every season. You could really see the negative impact of hiring a substandard one this season. Look at the Lions, they promoted within, a substandard OC after their OC, Johnson, went to the Bears, and they missed the playoffs. Do you really want to build up an OC for the Bengals or Ravens to snatch him and pair him with Burrow or Jackson?

If the Head Coach is the driver of the offensive system, you are less impacted by a coordinator changeover. They will probably go with defense because Art II is all about the perception of the Steelers' identity: running the ball and playing tough defense. You can still do both with an offensive-minded head coach and get the perk of better O-line play.

If they hire Shula, fine, but understand that it puts pressure to be continually innovative and vigilant with the coaches on offense. I just wish Art II would care more about the most important part of the Steelers' identity: winning and championships.

It said head coach vacancy on the post but McCarthy is from Pittsburgh though but it would be a dumb hire

Maybe so, I'm certainly not in the loop on this. Just trying to rationalize between past experience and current happenings. McCarthy getting hired as HC makes very little sense to me. As an OC candidate makes much more sense. But I know nothing, only guessing.

It’s not Kubiak’s defense. The defense is run by McDonald, the HC. Kubiak is his OC.

It’s very puzzling. It makes me wonder if there’s a desire to run it back with aging vets yet again. Did he have a good relationship with Rodgers at the end, or did it sour? I don’t recall.

ESPN is reporting that the Steelers are open to Aaron Rodgers reunion, and they are interviewing McCarthy, who coached Rodgers for 11 seasons with the Packers.

    Coincidence...or not?

Why am I breaking into a sweat?
