While I can agree with this, gotta remember that Tomlin was partially responsible for that roster.

One of the biggest hindsight bad decisions they made was trading Pickens for what became a deferral away from an aged QB and a HC in their final season. And this is coming from me who wanted him traded. What would Pickens have looked like with a new HC is my point?

I think we will be just fine. I don't think we're anywhere near a top 5 pick type of roster. We might have a losing season if we cast off a bunch of vets and it takes a while for the vision to come together... But we have a decent amount of young talent on both sides of the ball. If we draft and spend our FA money well, there's no reason we shouldn't be competitive for a playoff spot again. The only reason people think we will be bad is because we don't have a QB... which we haven't had for a bit. If we end up getting anything close to what we got with Rodgers or Wilson (even Pickett), we should be relatively decent.

    Yup, 3rd rd.

If he played his typical game they probably have 7 rings.

This is funny because he went at Stephen A for saying the Giants wont win the division but here he has the Steelers with a losing record. Consistency.

And it was Tomlin who decided to promote Arians to OC.

I completely agree with this post.

I'm amazed that a fan would rather go 6-11 without Tomlin than go 10-7 with Tomlin.

The Steelers have played one game in 19 years under Tomlin with them being out of playoff contention, yeah it sucks losing in the playoffs but it could be a while before they make the playoffs again.

    Thank you!

Also and the irony is insane… But the 2022 season they were 2-6 going into the bye. I said they needed to lose out. People said we’re the Steelers we don’t tank blah blah. They went 7-2 after bye and won a Tomlin Super Bowl finishing 9-8 and we didn’t even make the playoffs.

IF they lost out after the bye. They would’ve had 2nd pick and could’ve got CJ Stroud or at least got a lot of really good picks and chose where he went.

So it’s kind of full circle he beat us and made Tomlin finally leave

You can't just start getting rid of everyone on contract. Not right away.
Hey we could always trade away everyone, and get the most awesome greatest player in the NFL Josh Allen, and then we don’t need good coaches, or players, right???
    LoL.

It would be nice to have a coaching staff but it’s not required for the draft

We have the people who have been scouting and the man who runs the draft

Sure input from the HC would be nice and he will be hired by then

Actually he will be hired before the combine February 23

Lots of time to breath and relax

This is starting to feel like when everyone told me Kenny Pickett was going to be good. Or Wilson. Or Rodgers.

I do not believe in expecting exceptional outcomes.

The chances a new coaching staff comes in and wins with a dirtball QB is pretty gosh darn low. Maybe 2 staff’s in the league are doing it. Maybe.

Most staffs coming in with a dirtball QB win a frisky 6 games. Or meltdown and spiral to 3 wins. The scheme, energy, and vibes might all be excellent. Just not enough to win.

That’s what NFL history over the last 10+ years or so says is about to happen.

Now, if Khan and the new coaching staff pull a rabbit out of their posteriors and Jedi mind trick Will Howard into playing like Josh Allen or pump Kirk Cousins so full of steroids he plays like a bargain bin Dan Marino then I guess that’s what you’re taking about? Sure. I can see that.

Its not required to draft, but if your looking to hire a coach it doesnt make the job all that attractive, especially if your looking at bringing in a first time head coach.
