I'm sure there was something talked about in the end of season meeting that there was disagreement on. I don't honestly think he was fired because the fans don't like him. Wait....

Depends on what you're looking for. There are a couple proven coaches that will be retreads in Harbaugh, McCarthy, and Stefanski. There's a couple of good offensive minds that busted out as a HC once before but might be getting another look in McDaniels and Kingsbury. There is up and coming OC's in Kubiak and Brady. Then there's the defensive minded guys. Retreads in Flores and Saleh and then the up and coming guys like Minter, Hafley, and Shula.

Last year,Kevin O'Connell was in his 3rd year with the vikings and Sean Payton his second with the broncos,18th overall.Jim Harbaugh had also a great run with the 49ers....So they were not first year head coach

What does that have to do with what I said??? They all turned it around from before they arrived.

So what is the number up to now for 2026 HC vacancies? 6, 8? Can’t remember a time when so many were shown the door.

Dan Quinn (2015, Atlanta Falcons): 8-8
Sean McVay (2017, Los Angeles Rams): 11-5
Matt Naggy (2018, Chicago Bears): 12-4
Zac Taylor (2019, Cincinnati Bengals): 2-14
Matt LaFleur (2019, Green Bay Packers): 13-3
Kevin Stefanski (2020, Cleveland Browns): 11-5
Nick Sirianni (2021, Philadelphia Eagles): 9-8
Brian Daboll(2022, New York Giants): 9-7-1
DeMeco Ryans (2023, Houston Texans): 10-7
Shane Steichen (2023, Indianapolis Colts): 9-8
Dave Canales (2024, Carolina Panthers): 5-12
Liam Coen (2025, Jacksonville Jaguars): 13-4
Ben Johnson (2025, Chicago Bears): 11-6

Out of that list, Matt Naggy probably fits your criteria the most.

Other first year coaches who failed, some of which were quickly fired.

    Todd Bowles
    Chip Kelly
    Kliff Kingsbury
    Joe Judge
    Urban Meyer
    Nathaniel Hackett
    Jonathan Gannon
    Raheem Morris
    Brian Callahan
    Pete Carroll
    Kellen Moore
    Brian Schottenheimer

What criteria. I believe you are commenting on something else than what I said, or mixing two different things I've said together.
I show teams from last year that turned it around , and the teams that instantly fell back , and then I showed teams that turned it around this year and I will bet real money some will fall back.

Kevin O'Connell did an incredible job this year having a winning season with horrific QB play from JJ McCarthy and an UDFA. You could say he challenged Tomlin for the getting the Chicken Salad Award.

Yes, I agree, but they decided to go that way, and not bring back mister turnover. LoL

Harbaugh can have his pick of teams and, unless he wants vengeance twice a year against the Ravens, the Browns job is not the most attractive. No QB and an owner that micromanages more than Jerry Jones.

BTW, with McDaniels out that means Bobby Slowick is a free agent. Many here were pimping him when he was OC in Houston. What’s the chance we kick the tire with him the same way we did with Flores

Do you mean as OC or HC? Tomlin isn't going anywhere but if you're talking about OC, I would rather have McDaniel. I think Warren and Gainwell could really thrive in his offense. He showed me something this year. He adapted his offense to fit his personnel more and became much more run heavy. Hell, they were even running inside a lot with duo and even ran out of jumbo. Shocked me. And they had a pretty good season after that .

McDaniel is supposed to be some great offensive mind, but he had to bench his 50 million+ QB he failed .

Granted I do not follow the Dolphins. When I listen to the talking heads talk about the Dolphins, specifically Tua, there is never really anything positive or good said about him as a player. Many think he needs to retire before the next concussion, which is inevitable.
I don't actually care that McDaniel was fired. I'm just a bit surprised it happened now. They lost their biggest offensive weapon in Hill. Waddle's numbers at least look very similar to previous years. Yet the run game improved. Apparently not significantly enough to keep his job, but it improved. I don't know who else they have on offense.

I guess I'm thinking the coaching aspect didn't fail so much as got the most it could with what they had. Maybe it's not about the offense, but the defense drop off and the offense just didn't do enough? This was the worst of his 4 seasons.

I would think Miami is a place coaches would like to go. Maybe this is a good move for them?

Neither. Bring Slowick in as an Assistant or Passing Coordinator. I don’t think Smith will get an HC position somewhere and we are not firing him.

As for McDaniel, the Browns are lusting after him so he’s taken
