    Fair enough.

That said, Queens issues are not just the missed tackle rate for me. He is still late to reading his keys and diagnosing plays. Even when he does, his whiffs on Running Backs are bad; sometimes atrocious. Again a pipe dream of mine but Sonny Styles is an instant upgrade over Queen.

Jettison his ass if a deal is doable. Styles can slot in Day One and be "that guy."

I don’t even know why any QB would want to be drafted by the Steelers. Fans like to run them out of town before the ink even dries. If they get past that pressure then the coaching staff kills their career by handcuffing all of their skilled attributes. We got lucky when Tommy Maddox got injured and Big Ben came in and played his sandlot ball on a whim and Cowher couldn’t hold him back. Unfortunately, those days are long gone.

‘Darnell is probably the best blocking TE in the league in space, on the edge and pulling or in motion. I think it was three games ago he obliterated the edge while he came in motion. Mitch and Jonny are strictly receivers, neither is that great at blocking. I like Mitch much better he has better hands and run routes better. But for some reason Arthur Smith seems to like Jonny better.

Oh! Wow! Look at that! This thread was premature just like I said it was! That'll teach you to start looking ahead to the offseason while there's a season still in progress!

And a shout out to the six posters who deemed my saying we don't know that we'll lose to the Ravens Hilarious. Not so hilarious now!

“Best athlete available at a position of need” they used to say.
The Steelers’ biggest position of need is quarterback.
Getting The Guy at quarterback is usually a difficult and repetitive process. Look how many times the Browns have gone round on that very subject. OK, so that’s the Browns and granted they will always find a way to Brown things up. We ain’t the Browns, but it was a LONG time between Bradshaw and Ben.
There are a lot of stars that must align. A potentially good one has to be available when you need him. You have to have sucked sufficiently that you draft high enough to get him, or else trade up, which is costly. Then you have to develop him, which takes several years. Then you have to get a good enough team to gel around him in his prime years before he leaves in free agency or gets old. It takes a strategic genius to plan it, and no small amount of luck. Anyone remember that the Steelers only were able to draft Bradshaw because they won a coin toss with the Bears?
So if the qb is not there in the first round in 2026, a wr would be nice. The Steelers generally don’t miss on those, though they have drafted some real head cases.

The 2026 draft will define where we go the next 5-10 years. We are looking to rebuilding many areas. QB, WRs, RB with Gainwell most likely gone, DBs, DL with preparing for Heyward’s departure, LBs

In fairness, not a lot of us thought we'd actually beat the Ravens. Especially after the mentals were bad after watching us suck awfully in Cleveland and blow a game against a terrible Browns team that would've clinched. I certainly would've bet on us losing that game. Super glad we didn't lol

Dude, I am not going to waste my time on how many dumb things you said. But I'll do a quick search to show...

You wanted to keep claypool, green. You even called moore lock down.

But Shame on me that I didn't think the Steelers would beat a harder team then the browns. Not like the browns destroyed and embarrassed us. Not like we were without DK and Washington.
    - but here's the difference between you and me. I'll eat crow and I did exactly that immediately after the Ravens game. (Just like I did with rudolph).

Time to Grow up Glenn, the internet is not that serious.

I think mostly it’s just poor taste to make a thread like that when the game is still to be played. Plenty of time for draft talk after the season.

    At least you owned it.

For the first one, Bourne. For the second one, Khalil Shakir, Keion Coleman, and Brandin Cooks. That's what I know without looking anything up other than Shakir's first name.

    :)

I didn't click on it until today. I get the pre-game gloom and doom. I was posting a good bit of it. My only question is where he got the idea that the Ravens' defense was better than the Browns' defense.

Trading down is the way to go this year. I would give up pick #21, for an early 2,3 and 4th.

yeah I was upset. and prepared to move on.

I am still in shock with how we played. and that was without washington and DK, so how will it be with DK back.

I do think we are a team that can lose any game, but we are also a team that can beat any team. so can we stay that was for the next 4 games of being the team that can put teams in a mud hole?

The Ravens with their loss to us moved all the way up to pick #14. That missed FG cost them a playoff spot but did move them up around 8 spots.
