This is true, but I REALLY hope we figure out how to win the next two games (and hope Baltimore loses one of theirs). I fear that if we have a "win and in" game vs the Ravens, we're just going to lose.

The NFC has the most "elite" teams (Rams, Seahawks, Eagles) and a couple pretty good teams (Packers and Niners). Not sold on the Bears, but they are well coached and playing well (they are similar to the Pats in this regard).

The AFC has a lot of good teams and few (if any) elite teams. The Broncos are the closest to elite, and the Bills, Pats, Jags, Chargers, and Texans are all good teams with question marks. Both conferences will have a division with no high end teams in it send someone to the playoffs (AFC North, NFC South).

Now if we can do this without the bottom falling out on the pass defense. Definitely happy with the direction we are going in.

You're really bad at making predictions the Steelers had 230 yards rushing, they held the Lions to 15 yards rushing.

I was partially right. Defense did it's usual collapse in the 4th quarter. :icon mrgreen:

Enjoy this victory. Do you really think Steelers can compete with Patriots, Jaguars, Broncos and Texans in the post season? Lions lost their 2 starting safeties to IR. We won't be that fortunate against the AFC elite.

And what has any of those teams done in the playoffs lately
The Steelers were without two starters on the OL along with Herbig and Watt

yes, they did. and it took some referee help to win. yes - the Lions did commit the penalties, but it was WAYYYYY too close for comfort

Sawyer is the real deal. He played a good game. Highsmith stepped up, too. Steelers can develop OLBs, obviously. Just can't develop drafted QBs after Ben.

it is amazing how we find and develop OLB's.....

not so much with QB's.....and WRs of late......

CBs have been better as of late. We don't really develop CBs other than naturally talented JPJ... but we pick up other teams' CBs... and they play better for us.

Can’t say that enough - definitely too close for comfort. 4th quarter defense has to be better.

I see a lot about the OPI at the end of the game, but we had a similar thing happen with Washington earlier on.

Incredible how everyone complaining about the OPI at the end for Detroit "forgets" about the one on the Steelers earlier.

Don't forget about Stonehands Clark playing in the secondary.

There was a lot of goofy crap on that last series. The Highsmith tripping, the Duggar DPI (which, IMO, the rule about putting your arm on the receiver's back when you're going for a defense is ticky tack. If the DB doesn't turn the player, it shouldn't be PI), the no-whistle on St. Brown's obvious lack of forward progress.

Well, they haven't had much to work with as far as drafted QBs .

Landry Jones, Josh Dobbs and Mason Rudolph were/are decent backup QBs... but yeah, not starting caliber. I think Dennis Dixon won a game or two a long time ago.
