That plus players on both the defense and offense having it out with the coaches and getting on the same page. “Removing the grey area.”

Also the addition of some key players. Add it all together and you have a team playing much better football.

That was a REALLY bad time for an uncharacteristic miss.

Stupid refs did that. That bull**** dropped ball they called a catch even though the ****ing ball was moving the entire time.

I bet Dan Campbell would have liked to have those 3 points he passed up earlier in the game on the last drive.

Forget the rest of it. The Steelers kicked the Lions' asses in the running game. It was just amazing to see this defense that was helples to stop the run against the Bills, and the Ravens absolutely shut down a damn good Detroit running game. With the exception of the touchdown pass, which was aided by a pick, they took Gibbs away.

Is Harmon really that good? The difference between the run defense with and without him is just insane.

The offensive line, missing two starters, still managed to open some huge holes in the second half. Warren took full advantage with the best game of his career. The only question I have is why he didn't get the ball instead of Gainwell on those last two runs before the missed field goal.

My one big concern coming out of this game is the loss of Echols. The guy had really stepped up lately.

I was speculating on your defense question yesterday. You have to wonder how many guys on defense basically say TJ is the star, TJ makes the plays, do I really have to try as hard? You can see similar efforts over the years, the one I gave was Cam Thomas playing with Deebo, Kiesel and Troy. The current teamm you see guys elevating their game when Watt isn't playing because they dont have him to lean on. Which makes you wonder why aren't they doing that when he is playing?

The other side of the coin is that opposing offenses can plan to limit Watt when Watt isn't playing and they have to address the whole defense instead of how to attack Watt. In the last two weeks that has led guys making splash plays because the Dolphins and Lions weren't able to pick on specific guys and lots of them played some outstanding games.

The Steelers winning the battle in the trenches on both sides of the ball and our running backs coming up with more explosive plays than theirs was the biggest surprise for me, too.

Ramsey and Queen on the same defense is really unique and an upgrade and better than any of our past defenses going back at least a decade,

Past two weeks the offense looked like absolute dogshytttt for the first 26m of the game, only to get last minute TDs to close out the halves which springboarded them to big 3Qs. Heck, the offense at one point was so dysfunctional in the 1H that at one point we had Aaron cussing out Jonnu during the presnap cadence. 1H offense and 4Q defense was my only issues in an otherwise dominant performance where the score was far closer than how the game was played. I'd love it if our DCs got out of the habit of jumping into the prevent defense and just call the plays that got us there. It nearly cost us the game.

Edit: sorry if this came off as bitchin when we played our most impressive game of the year. I just don't think this team reached its full potential yet. I think if they win our first playoff game in a decade, they can find themselves in the AFCTG if they can get the offense going all game instead of the last 35.

The Steelers gave up only 15 rushing yards to the Lions for the entire game. The defense also held an opponent to negative yards in the 3rd qtr for the 2nd week in a row.

It doesn't work like that... Several other things happened in this game... and it's very possible the Steelers would have a field goal on the next drive if the Lions had kicked it, since the Steelers would have had much better starting field position and the offense had 30 yards on the next drive, probably enough to attempt a field goal.

Also, Tomlin went down twice on fourth down and made both times... Maybe the problem for the Lions was that he didn't make that fourth down?

It's possible the game against the Browns won't mean anything... If the Ravens lose to the Packers on Saturday night, the Steelers will know before their game whether they've clinched the division or not.

Boz did miss that Field Goal.

However, Christian Kuntz's snapping ability has been suspect for weeks now. Given how Pittsburgh added another LS before the Lions Game in addition to the poor snap which lead to the miss, i suspect Christian Kuntz and his days of long snapping are coming to a close. Need the best players available out there.

Long Snappers are no exception. Yesterday proved that point all the more clear. A bad handle of the snap by the holder is often due to the Long Snapper.

    Kuntz isnt.

He has been on the Injury Report for weeks now. His knee is affecting him greatly. Cal Adomitis should see action sooner rather than later.

Hutchinson crying about the OPI calls at the end. Wasn't complaining about the ones earlier against DK and Washington. Nothing about the Catch that wasn't a catch on that last drive either? Or the PI that got called after begging the refs for a flag on 4th down. Maybe cry about the first Detroit penalty getting called in the 4th quarter!

Still pissed Washington's wasn't offsetting at least I mean the defender was ripping DKs jersey!
