If he took the league minimum, I’d sign him tomorrow for a playoff, SB run this year. I’d say publicly, play well and prove the ‘49ers wrong and get a fresh start here. Him, Metcalf, Friermuth and Washington, what do we have to lose!

He is done for the year. His contract won't be terminated until the off-season.

Possibly..... but we have players who sign with bottom feeders that win 3 games.
So, where I am at in my career does come into the decision process... 1 last contract, why not take the big contract?
But early on, personally I would stay and drive my value up to that.

Doesn't work that way, for sure.

Apparently, we are getting trained (see last night and last week)

Put a couple 'decent' WR's out there to distribute the coverage a little more off Metcalf and guess what, you can throw the ball to them.
This applies to WR's not named Roman Wilson.

I don't care for Austin at all but somehow, he's figured a little something out.
Of course, it is only Baltimore and Miami (which no one can understand the way they ended that game)..
We'd still be the lowest div winner.

In the NFL, every contract could be "that one last contract". Hell, every game could be that one last game. Daniel Jones was looking at serious money for next year, but now people are going to be wondering how well he can come back from an acl.

Well, I don't want to get into all the "what if's" stuff.
All I have said, and it applies to select few players, is that I'd rather play for the Patriots (glory years) for less to make more in the end.
You're right in the case of Daniel Jones... same applies to Sam Darnold and probably Mack Jones will cash in...
Those are situation where those players got on Terrible QB teams for whatever reasons.
*The Jets should be banned from using QB's forever.

He hasnt played football in a year and coming off a bad injury. Dont know how helpful he would have been for these upcoming games.

So far, what looked like a couple moves that wouldnt move the needle, bringing in Thielen and MVS has had a positive affect on the passing game. Clearly teams respect them more than they do our other receivers not name Metcalf, despite them being old.

The routes I see are way better with Adam and MVS. The only crazy one I saw was on a sack where Washington apparently ran the same route as I think it was Metcalf and Rogers had nowhere to throw.
