Thielen may be 35 and losing a step but he shows up to work and prepares for game day and practices like he needs to earn his spot every day. I have zero problem with claiming him off waivers, my problem is that it is a waste until they decide to use the middle of the field. Tomlin's desire to win by attrition not creating turnovers means that defenses only have to cover the sidelines. Thieves won't matter as long as they do that.

 

Maybe he can just play home games then.

 

James Harrison is next.

I’ll take Thielen after the debacle of this WR group at least he’s a threat over the middle, and tough one at that. No speed but he’ll come down with it IF you throw it over the middle. Maybe this will get Arod to throw it there and start a trend

I think Wilson has talent as does Austin but they aren't consistent threats and the rest are ST guys who get lucky every now and again. They need a vet who they can count on. Is that Thielen? Maybe but I want them to stop the cute negative yardage plays. They didnt trade for Metcalf to have him run end around, bubble screens or quick slants in zone coverage. Go three wide with Metcalf, Thielen and Austin with Muth as TE send Metcalf and Austin on go routes and clear out the middle for AT and Muth to work on crossing routes or shallow drags. Add Gainwell and Warren as safety valve plays and force teams to match up. Lastly convert Conner to a FB and let him lead the way.

 

AB would have to play with an ankle monitor.

 

Frieirmuth was on the field all day Sunday but AR couldn’t find him even if he had a search warrant.

 

MVS and Theilen can at least run routes correctly. So can CA3, he just can't see over the defenders to see if the ball is coming.

 

Maybe it's like Major League? The owner is forcing them to sign old guys who will be bad enough to be able to move the team to Miami?

What they need to win is a picture of Margaret Whitton they can peal stickers off of. I assume a picture of Art Rooney wouldn't quite do it.
