I do not think so. I sadly think these coaches have failed a lot of these players to reaching their peak performance.

There's no way someone is going to tell me Ravens just drew up lucky plays for queen.

My other question is..... how would you feel if he went on to being lights out like Pickens is looking on another team?

And I don't want to turn this into a Tomlin thread. But I do just want to say,l.... the Steelers are what made Tomlin look good. No one should ever think Tomlin is good at developing.

No he will not. Not should not, will not.

Queen only would incur less than $4 Million in Dead Cap Money while saving Pittsburgh $13 Million per this article here. It isnt a good looking 2026 ILB Draft Class while the 2026 FA options are even less appealing. That said, Queen isnt worth the money he is being paid.

$10 says that he will be first on the chopping block. Give the green dot to Payton Wilson in 2026 and see what you have in him. Should he fail?! Draft one in 2027 then assuming you didnt in 2026.

To answer the second question, if he balled out for another team?! That is just anothet indictment of the Coaching Staff. However, given that Queen still cannot make the routine plays routinely, I dont anticipate this happening.

I know you don't want to make this a Tomlin thread, but if Tomlin is still here in 2026 then "No", Queen will not be.

Queen, like former offensive captain Najee Harris, has openly questioned Tomlin's leadership in the locker room, and will be shown the door at the end of this season.

Did Najee Harris Say the 'Quiet Part' in Comments About Tomlin?
Harris has never been one to be shy about speaking his mind. He’s a bright young man who seems to give careful consideration to what he says but I can’t help but wonder if he didn’t say “the quiet part out loud.” Harris said the Steelers need more structure and in-house rules. In his interview posted by 93.7 The Fan, Harris appears to be referencing a more disciplined situation when he was at Alabama under Nick Saban. Whether you feel this a damning indictment of Tomlin is your business but I tend to think it is.

Im shock to hear Rodgers implying not all WRs attend film sessions. Whose responsibility is it to make attendance mandatory? Grounds for termination if you ask me

So much to say here w/out even opening that link. But this locker room is either broken, or on the verge of breaking.

    LW:
    Queen calls out the scheme
    CAIII questions players/coaches
Cam lightly called out the scheme but blamed it more on a lack of execution

    TW:
Cam crashes out during the game and then blames the offense
Sawyer lashes out at fans for booing Tomlin

I take this up as frustration building up. And I just hope they take this frustration out on the Ravens and put belt to azz; because if not, this frustration will boil over and destroy this team. Yea, I actually think this season is salvageable despite them being 1-4 in their last 5 and 2-5 in their last 7; however, its slipping from their hands and it'll be public & ugly.

No, he won't! Players used to want to come to the steelers to be a part of something special and a chance to win a championship. Now, they sign with the steelers for that last big before retirement paycheck

I hope not. The Steelers need to re-build. Obtain fundamentally strong players with a love for the game.

Agree. His game is too inconsistent to be getting paid the amount he is getting paid.

    This is funny.

PIT Defense: "no way are you gonna run to the right on us"
BUF Offense: "You are right. We gonna run left." (and they did)

No Way. Not at his cap #. The Ravens let him go...think about that. Picking up another team's trash is ill advised.

Trading a star player in his prime, as we did with Pickens for a 3rd round pick is assinne.

    Who's running this team?

Hopefully not. I think Queen could be solid as a weak side OLB in a 4 man front. No green dot, run and chase. See it, get it. Well, except for the whole “tackling” thing that he needs to work on.

I saw that he has already matched last years missed tackles and still have 5 games to go.

Queen is undersized for an ILB, he has speed but he takes bad angles and runs himself out of plays. This past game against the Bills, I saw him flash in the hole but he stopped and didnt make the play, what did happen was a Bills lineman got to the hole and cleared him out of the way. This is not what we need or what we should tolerate from our inside linebackers.
One more thing, why in the heck are we using 2 down lineman at the 5 yd line? This has to be the dumbest coaching staff on the planet!!

Exactly. The Ravens kept him clean, we don’t. He isn’t built to consistently take on blocks. He is basically a safety playing the ilb position. We also have him flat footed reading and reacting too much. A guy like that needs to take advantage of his speed and beat the rb to the hole. He plays his best when moving forward and attacking but we don’t use him that way.

It comes down to terrible position and assistant coaches and Tomlin doing exactly the opposite of what he preaches playing in his fears and ultra conservative. Tomlin has tried to mimic the 49’er’s both in defense and offense the last five years but he can’t coach it like they do. He doesn’t know how to coach or position guys correctly in today’s modern NFL.

Queen is EXACTLY what the Ravens thought he was - an incredible athlete that has no feel for the game. Queen was only ever playing at a high level when the Ravens brought Roquan Smith in to do all Queen's thinking for him.

The Steelers defensive scheme is likely totally broken. BUT I am gonna need more than Patrick Queen's thoughts on it. This is a guy who has a multi-year reputation for being too slow to figure out what scheme his team is running.

Complete retooling off-season. Tomlin will be gone along with most of staff. I imagine Bubblegum boy will be retained.

This team isn't going to miraculously turn it around. Will be a losing season with stats in the ****ter. No way, no how will ownership continue on this path. It's been a downward spiral for years. Fans were booing the dumb Styx pump song. Chanting for a firing. Players been bickering for years. Embarrassing player movements. Bad trades. Bad contracts. Player development.

Owner will bite the bullet and hire the OC from the Bills.

    No.
A few players brought in this year are out too.

Time to clean out family, friends and all those that got winked at too.

Depends on what other options are around. Certainly a potential cut.

Hopefully we feel like Wilson can step into the primary ILB role. But we were equally splitting his reps with Harrison, which isn't a great sign.

We certainly need someone better than Harrison to be ILB2.

It won't happen because he's so good at edge, but I would have liked to see us try to use Herbig as an ILB a little more to get his snap count up (and get out best players on the field). But even if we did that, we've had a fair number of injuries at OLB so he's getting a good amount of snaps there anyway.

Unless he gets traded, yes. I doubt we just fire him and let him walk.

a coach needs to teach or reinforce the fundamentals or the routine, doesn't happen on its own.
