It didn't paint Heyward in a particularly good light. He raises the issue one year removed from signing his extension, does another hold-in, then comes away with a an incentive or two that aren't likely to be reached.

I like Cam, but it made him seem petty or not that bright. He and his agent easily could've negotiated those incentives last year. Instead, he waits a year and disrupts training camp/preseason again for what amounted in the end to be virtually nothing.

I have no problem with players getting their money. But how you go about it counts for something as well.

Your leader has to be the guy who doesn't let his emotions get the best of him, because that's what everyone else follows. He pretty much admitted that he let his emotions take him out of the game. If there is any chance to regain this team, Tomlin should at his PC tomorrow tell us all that he told Heyward that as a leader he can't do that, and that he was out of line for allowing himself to be taken out of the game like that.

Certainly true as an impact player.

Don't know if he is still holding up against the run. He may be. In which case, I'd want him back at a lower number because our DL depth isn't what I think we'd like it to be (as seen yesterday without Harmon).

I don't think he'll take another pay cut. But I also think he wants another all-pro because he really wants to get into the HoF. And while I don't think it's likely, he might also think he can get to 100 sacks if he plays one more year (currently at 90).

The whole team is washed like you said or just average players. Our running backs are average at best. IMO Warren is just ok and Gainwell is a little better to me. DK is well DK. Out tight ends are nonexistent. The O-line is average at best and the defense is overpaid and awful. If we were finally going to open the checkbook this year then go get legit players not old past their prime players. We’ll be paying some of them for a little bit. I don’t know their contracts off the top of my head. We went from 4-1 and looking like the AFC North was ours to playing terrible football. Although, we didn’t play that good to get to 4-1. A lot of the teams imploded themselves handing us good chances to win the game. We are getting worse every game IMO.

Black was getting trucked the entire game. And Benton did a disappearing act. DL again in the draft. Playing 2 down linemen against one of the best running teams seems like a poor plan to me.

TJ needed a dollar more then Garrett, He got a Mill. This is all Art II. One helmet guy is playing like he has half a helmet.

The only good thing about Twinkies Cam is he gets nothing unless they make the playoffs and win one. So really he held in for nothing. Great leader:lolol:

Pickens is thriving because they opened up the route tree. Yea yea he has CD Lamb on the other side but still he is burning it up. Has more yards then all the receivers combined on this offense. Metcalf and Pickens could have been a force. But that would take some actual innovation in which this offensive scheme is archaic.

Yes they need that extra secondary player on the field while getting historically gashed over and over...

I said before last season he was probably washed and we should get rid of him. Turns out I was wrong, but father time is unbeaten. I would rather get rid of a guy a year early then a year late. So sure, I was wrong because he played better than I expected, but I still stand by what I said. Teams have to think of players as investments. Sell high and buy low whenever possible. I'm all for loyalty in rare exceptions (Troy or Ward), but that doesn't apply to Heyward. They wouldn't have gotten much for him, but maybe something. Now he's worth nothing and has hurt us on the field this year.

Since Cam isn't going to get his hold in money he has signed up to be a spokes person. Commercials are starting as we speak.

Not a good mark to have on a career Cam. Not a good look the same. I truly dont see anything that happened here.

Either this occured on the previously in the game or Cam is lying out of his ass.

I don't know what to make of it. That sequence literally took him out of the game mentally. Then he had the gull to blame the offense. He's really making it harder for me to want him back in 26. I give him the Troy sequence and cut him if he thinks he wants to come back. He'll be 37 and he's becoming more of a cancer than leader, unlike Troy.

I'll disagree with this take a little bit. Cam has done so much good off the field. He wom NFL man of the year for a reason. I've never seen him lose his cool like that before. He claimed Josh Allen kneed him in the stomach, maybe it was in the nuts, I don't know. Agree he could be more dominant this year, but he is up in age. He did have a great season last year. Really the whole defense is underperforming -- Queen, TJ, Slay, even Peyton Wilson at times.

I didn't feel like starting yet another Tomlin thread ... but, I will say this ... that I got criticized and told that I didn't know football back in the day, on the old message board. I stated that we should've made "the Wiz" our new head coach after coach Cowher left. The crazy thing about it is ... Wisenhunt and Grimm went on to coach a way lesser talented team and Tomlin inherited a superbowl caliber team. And, guess what team met us in the superbowl? I'm going out on a limb to say that we would've destroyed Greenbay in that superbowl and may have played in more after that ... under the Wiz.

One guy is a captain and a supposed leader of the team the other guy DK isn't.

I get being pissed if another player kicked him in the nuts but kneed him in the stomach if it happened could've been by accident, doesn't seem like something to get that worked up about.

My understanding is that it happened on an earlier play and Cam was simmering after that. And I gotta say at least Heyward showed some emotion in the game. Half the defense was playing like the walking dead out there. I mean, watching the Denver defense is what watching the Steelers defense used to be like. Guys swarming, tackles with no YAC. Steelers just seem worn down, lethargic half the time.

The steelers lost the turnover battle 2-0 against the 14-2 colts in the playoffs on the road in 2005 but they won this game. This is how great the 2005 steelers were!

Ben threw a pick 6 and Mendenhall fumbled late when the Steelers had some momentum. Nobody considers that 2005 team an all-time great but you .
