Is this the bottom?

It is possible DJ, I despise Tomlin and his ineptness, but there are other inept coaches as HCs and OC/DCs out there. I hope they consider good college OC/DC for coach, maybe one from a team with a well-respected head coach. Yeah, I know, Canada was a college coordinator, but he was also mediocre there. I said a GOOD college OC/DC. Also a good NFL OC/DC is great.

I do NOT want a coach that took over from a great coordinator and kinda kept things going, i.e. riding the coattails. I see that far too often. A team gets a big positive turnaround, coordinator leaves, assistant is promoted, team appears to be still pretty good, coordinator gets hired at OC/DC and shows he was just riding veteran players that already knew the system and not really able to teach or acclimate to new players.

Get the HC/OC/DC that turned around a bad team and did it with schemes and play-calling, not NIL portal-palooza talent overloading.

 

My fear...I am already nauseated thinking about it.

 

Guess this could fall under the topic...but is there anything to some of this Tomlin personal life speculation. Something going on? Quick way to bottom out is your personal life being in shambles.

 

I highly doubt it. There's countless legitimate stuff we can bash Tomlin for and this isn't a rabbit hole I plan to waste my time on.

 

Aarons not going to be anywhere close to 100% for the rest of the season, and the already mediocre playbook is down to a few pages he can physically run. Defense is beat up and worn down. It's going to get ugly.

 

The best thing that could happen to this team now is a complete and total meltdown, lose all the remaining games, and maybe somehow Art wakes up after going a comcbned 6-17 over the end of last season and this.

This cannot be allowed to continue.

Rodgers is beat up and washed, the defense is trash, the offense is atrocious, there is no PASSING GAME WHATSOEVER, it's just a running game through the air, often behind the LOS, Arthur Smith as I feared is absolutely clueless and was nothing more than benficiary of running into a HOF back. His playcalling stinks, and the overall philosophy of Mike Tomlin ie:

"You bet your ass we're playing in our fears"

Is 30 years out of date, this organization feels like it's is past it's sell by date. I have said this before this what hp[pened to Al Davis Raiders, he and they would not change witrh the times and adapt and relaise their pholosophy was antiquated, and as a result, fell into insigificance and they have never recovered, and that's the path THE PITTSBURGH STEELERS are on right now.

I agree. You just described Tomlin's entire career: rode the coat tails of the team Tomlin built with his OC/DC, and been crap since they left.

Any success post Lebeau/Arians and original Cowher players was fluking into TJ Watt class players.

No more of that. Get a real coach.

 

Well, technically Tomlin didn’t lie. He stated this could be an Historic defense and as of now, it certainly is.
