I never cease to be amazed by your ability to recite so much information and still not understand the basics of the game of football

And it really is not that complicated

I mean, it's not always because of offense when you score...

I gave the example of the 2006 Bears who had a bad offense but they were high in PPG... According to you, the Bears had a good offensive game against the cards in 2006 with 24 points, so much so that Dennis Green was so angry after the game with a legendary meltdown!

If you want a stat for Arians, they score 23 points or more in every playoffs game with him as OC(in 8 games)...Of course they had some defensive score during this period but context don't matter for you so who care!

No, he does not. Arinas was a good OC, hired by Cowher. Bruce proved his worth as the head coach of Indy and Arizona. On Pittsburgh he had AB before he was really good, and no Bell

Does anyone think the jokers Tomlin hired as OC were better or could be a good head coach?

    Anyone?

When Arinas left the Super Bowl window closed. And when Dick LeBeau left our ability to win playoffs games closed. We have not won a playoff game in 8 years + underTomlin and his hire OC and DC.

The big reason to remove Arians was to extend Bens career. In hindsight, extending Bens career 2-3 seasons wasnt the best idea. Should have Kept BA and got the most out of Ben.

The next Steelers win, Mike Tomlin will tie Dan Reeves for 10th place in all-time regular season wins. His next playoff win will put him tied for 19th place in that category.

This is game like that why this is the time....

Awful offense in the second half,it was a classic Matt Canada offense until the moment they were down by 10 points

And he punts almost in FG range down a score on 4 and 2 with little time to go? Fire this clown.

Haley came after and he was much better than Arians.

What I remembered about Arians offense was pathetic Red Zone ability. Lots of yards between the 20s and few TDs.
Haley came and immediately made them a better overall offense. Haley is the best OC Steelers have had in the past 30 years. Wish he was back right now, but meathead Tomlin wants a bunch of scaredy cats, dinking and dunking into lots 3rd and longs and punts.

I am still waiting for somebody to tell me what Mike Tomlin is actually good at as a head coach.

Game flow and decision making? Nope.

    Offense? Scheme? Nope.

    Secondary? Nope.

    Adjustments? Nope.

    Creativity? Nope.

    Defense? Nope. Buttercream soft.

Motivation? To make dumb football plays.

That speaks volumes about the owner, who seems quite comfortable with this complete fraud of a head coach.

You forgot about being well liked by players who enjoy not being held accountable, and coming up with quote worthy cliches in post game interviews. Check and check.

Haley had also more talent in the offensive line and wide receiver position, like peak Antonio Brown...Haley was still a good OC but sometimes his playcalling was frustating

"smile in adversity", with all his fake speeches on accountability you'd think he'd"collectively" take responsibility. He couldn't do it since cowhers line up and his goal every season has become just a winning season not the playoffs. Rooney needs to understand if Tomlin can't do it with this amount of money, he just can't do it. Time for a new head coach, and it better be nobody under Tomlin.

I mentioned elsewhere that I am convinced Tomlin no longer wants to put in the effort to deal with challenging players. That is why they traded Pickens, which was a huge mistake. I've been talking about them letting the inmates run the asylum and offloading talented players for minimal return for years. It finally caught up to them in a way no one can deny.

Clearly, the Steelers weren't using Pickens properly, which is an indictment of their offensive coaches. I have no doubt that led to at least some of the knucklehead behavior. The current offense would be much better with him, which could have been enough to win another game or two and look like a real threat in the playoffs. I am also certain that Metcalf would be producing more if it wasn't so easy to double him and dare any other receiver to to something.

Perhaps, but he called the best game of any OC under Ben, no one else was within shouting distance, including Arians. Arians also had good talent.

The sad thing to me is this:

Pickens wouldn't have been a difficult player if we weren't running at 1930s NFL offense. No one is happy the past 5 years with Tomlin's don't risk a turnover offense. Tomlin seems content to win a field-goal fest and hope and pray for a D TD. I can tell you this, if I were an WR or RB I'd be counting down my days to free agency so I could go find a team that is aggressive and uses the entire field and schemes me open or schemes me some sizeable holes in the line to run through.

Pickens would have been happy under Ben and Haley. It's true, our QB situation has been fairly ugly past 6 years, but there are teams out there with very mediocre QBs with potent passing games due to aggressive coaching. An occasional interception, sure, but if you score two TDs and toss an int, you're probably up. If you score no TDs and have no turnovers, you lose 80% of the time.

That isn't entirely true. Tomlin's record during those seasons shows you can win some games that way, but you're not making it to a Super Bowl with such a conservative approach.

I don't entirely agree with your assumption. Pickens was always a jackass. He was a jackass at Georgia. He was a jackass as a rookie. It wasn't just the way they ran the offense. That said, a more aggressive offense that utilized him better would have mitigated some of the problem.
