This is true. He's going to miss more this year too. NFL RB's miss on average 3.3 games a season. A lot of this is likely skewed with long term injuries, but the reality is that the NFL RB takes the most punishment, therefore is the most likely to miss time. Warren has never played in less than 15 so far in his career. He's got a chance this year obviously... but approx. 14 games per season would be the expectation for your starting RB.

Harris made it through four seasons without missing a game. He also did it while shouldering a heavier workload than we have ever seen Warren manage.

Warren hasn't made it through one and is currently in his fourth season. Even when he is healthy, they don't give him a true lead back's workload. Ignore the very real questions about Warren's durability, but the team clearly sees the issue and manages him accordingly.

I'm just glad I was wrong about Gainwell. He has been far better than I imagined he could be in covering for Warren's inability to be a lead back.

Your citing Harris as if he is the norm, hes not.

Warren has missed the average amount of time. Knock on wood he never misses a season like Harris is.

Also lets not ignore that Harris played through a lisfranc injury, he was completely ineffective during that time and should have been sitting.

My point all along is that he couldn't do what Harris did the last four seasons. The evidence from this season supports that claim. More importantly, Tomlin seems to know it, which is why he isn't getting the ball enough even when he is healthy.

Nobody plays every game, Scribe. I’ll take the better RB.

There is no need to when you have a nice stable of players

The thing is, Warren is playing good ball for us. He's averaging 5.1 YPC since the slow start (first 3 games). We could really use him out there, as he is probably our second best overall player on the entire offense. I am not advocating throwing him out there hurt with a high risk for re-injuring (or aggravating it further), but if he's healthy enough to go and he doesn't have an increased risk of injury because of it... then play him. He's a very good back, and a huge determining factor for whether or not our offense is successful.

I'm not sure that we have a great stable behind Warren. Gainwell is a very nice 3rd down back, and showed earlier in the year that he can chip in as a lead back when needed... but those are our only two real guys. I have some faith in Sermon, though he's mostly back of the roster fodder. There's no reason to believe in Johnson at this point, and having a 90% Warren is going to be way better than anything we'd expect from Kaleb on the field at this point.

Yeah. I don't understand the talk of resting Warren. This is the sort of game they need him. The Bears have a good pass defense, but they are terrible against the run. Warren is their best chance to take advantage of that.

Why do the Steelers not try to use their run game more? Lord knows are defense needs
more TOP from the offense. But our OLCoach is fantastic, LOL. We have capable runners, it is a shame they are wasted when we so desperately need that part to be excelling to keep are defense fresh.
