A Cabin in the Woods is one of the best horror movies that year it came out, and it was the 1st or 2nd film that the guy that plays Thor was in. Perfect Getaway may have been 1st.

Hey, I watched that awhile ago. Did you think it was a take on other popular horror movies?? Been awhile but I think I thought that at the time but never looked into it. You jogged my fading memory.

It has a similar beginning as Evil Dead. (Another good movie)

Cabin in the Woods was absolutely a take/homage/parody of a lot of horror movies. The whole idea of appeasing the Old Gods using tropes that we see all the time in horror movies is funny. It explains a lot of them and their odd patterns. It was very meta when you realize that WE are the "Old Gods" they're trying to appease.

Maybe my favorite subtle joke in that movie was the betting board on what horrible thing would be summoned:

All of those usual monsters, evil things, scary things... and... Kevin? Kevin? OHHH!!!!

We watched Premonition starring Sandra Bullock. Decent mildly supernatural mystery.

Watched Nun 2 finally last night. It was ok, I thought better in some aspects than the 1st one, but not great. Some cool parts.

I want to see it, but I will wait till I can watch at home. I don't like being around a bunch of people anymore. LoL. I only do it now if I play out, go to a concert, or a football game. Otherwise I've become antisocial in my older age. LoL

I get it. But.... a concert is much more social than a theater. Just saying.

My oldest does not go anywhere there's a crowd. He's always been a germaphobic personality, but since lockdown he's never gone back to going out. Like I say, I get it. I just have to get out from time to time.

I don't understand why the concert doesn't bother me, and a theater does, but it does. I don't try pinning down my older guy neurosis . LoL. I think it's the having to sit in one spot. I'd love drive ins to make a comeback. I have two around, but they are quite a drive away, and too far IMO for a movie that I will be able to rent, or stream in a month.

I saw that TRON hit the Streaming section.

I have some time to Kill this weekend; Any reviews here??

I am beginning to hate online reviews as everyone is pushing an agenda about had bad things are now days. It is crazy out there right now. Even Rotten Tomatoes is getting reviews from people that have never seen the movie.

Also, I finally got around to seeing Jason Momoa's Sweet Girl and enjoyed the movie; nice twist at the end. Shame it was buried because of real-life circumstances. After the movie I thought this really could have been a cool Origin Story for a trilogy.

I honestly have never seen any of the Trons, which is strange because it would seem to sit in the type of movies I'd enjoy.
