They are not revealing anything that isn’t already known and that hasnt been said over the last decade.

Thats the point, the Steelers are basically the same over that time period.

You realise Tomlin and staff are not going to show their hands in that game
Come on, we all know the bengals will not be a factor at year end.

Yes, but a Steelers loss in a game they should have won will be a factor. We’ve seen it years after years

Consider the forum, the source and the intended audience. Forum was the winning locker room, source was a player, and the audience was the local winning team media.
The intent was therefore to convey that their team was well prepared for the victory. Nothing more than that.

See this is exactly what I mean. LoL. So they just let us win. How much sense does that make. Coaches , and players that will lose their jobs just say....well it's the Steelers, let's let them win 10 games. Yeah do you believe in the tooth fairy also??? LoL

You know in every sport I played in, I said crap to the opponents, stuff I didn't know, why .........to get under their skin, to make them doubt. Nobody that really knows anything let's their opponents know it so they can change it. Think Man.

I'm actually not sure if You can.
You will talk about we can't develop, or coach, but then have not one single answer when I give a list of players that we drafted that played good here, but not anywhere else, or players that played bad elsewhere, but good here. You just get really quiet because it doesn't support what You want to believe. You have a preconceived thought, and no amount of evidence will change that, and because some can't actually think, their comeback, no matter what is being talked about is......we haven't won a playoff game in so, and so years. LoL

So instead of answering the questions, You deflect. Old tactics meaning, I believe what I believe, and no amount of logic, or evidence will change that.
Here I will answer You though, because I'm not afraid to. If a guy gets open on the 1st, or 2nd read, why would you not throw it???
If I beat you physically in a foot race, does that mean I knew exactly how You were going to run, or just because I'm faster than You??

Well actually their record showed it was a game they were most likely to lose.

Notice how most of the people that believe this stuff , and know for a fact it's true are a lot, not all, but a lot of the same people that just knew Fields was good, and that our dumb team was making a mistake by letting him go. I sense a pattern. LoL

I remember reading in the newspaper Fran Tarkenton said something very similar immediately after a game on January 12, 1975

So what if it's because of Rodgers he's still a member of the Steelers.

I think there are two debates going on here:

    1. Is the steelers D too vanilla/predictable that if Watt doesn't bust up plays or there are no turn overs then it doesn't work?
    2. Did the exact words from Chase's mouth mean anything by themselves?

The OP is only arguing about point #2.

As for point #1, the results speak for themselves... there's no need for Chase to say anything - the stats do the talking when Watt doesn't bust up plays or there are no turn overs (like playoff games).

Makes on think to ones self if this knowing thing had any substance to sink one's teeth into then there would be multiple career games for Chase vs the Steelers such as he had a week ago instead of the majority of their offensive game plan being Mixon and Higgins the last 5 years.

@Steel_Elvis@Steel_Elvis I believe early in the 1st when he had gotten some pressure he was surprised and questioning his life choices but once they saw how they kept going to subpackage when the spread out and the confusion in the middle they attacked it.

When you look at the Steelers defense over the Tomlin era, there is not really much difference from year to year. The faces change, the individual player abilities change, but it is still basically the same thing. Flacco has faced the Steelers 23 times. That is the team he has faced the most in his career, with the Bengals at 22 and Browns at 21 times.

With that history, I would expect that at the very least, he would have a damned good idea of what to expect from the Steelers. It was like a Talking Heads song for him I bet......Same as it ever was. Same as it ever was. He knew where the holes would be and he threw the ball quick. No need to go to read #2. His only real concern was probably if the Oline would be capable of giving him 3 seconds of protection.
