He knows the defense but we have better playmakers this year. Much better.

Rogers is a pretty determined QB because of all the doubters out there. As long as the front line protects him the best they can he will win.

Its a division game. They know what were going to do, pretty sure we know what they are going to do, it will come down to who executes better and i think we have overall better playmakers.

better Qb, better O line and better overall D.

    and better kicker.

A Jeckyl and Hyde defense implies that they keep going back and forth between good and bad games. That isnt what we have seen so far. We have seen a team that started terribly and got better. Injuries have played a role. Harmon did not play in the opener. Elliott got hurt early. Heyward needed time after staging a hold-in most of the preseason. That unit is much healthier now. They could still regress or suffer more injuries, but there is a positive trend.

This one had me concerned with the short week. Now if they have to go without Elliott, I'm moving past concerned to pessimistic. The last thing they need is to be missing a key part of their secondary. None of the potential replacements come close to what Elliott brings, but he didn't travel with the team due to some personal issue, which certainly isn't a good sign.

I saw on one of the sports channels yesterday that the Steelers have a 65%chance to win this week.

That's a short week on the road. 65%

TOMLIN does not win these type of games. Would be huge for them to pull it off and really have a 3.5 game lead though!

I don't worry about Rodgers... the defense usually goes south in late November/December. Example: Bud Dupree injury in 2020.... totally derailed the D and team went into a tailspin... and last year, defense was getting torched regularly against good teams.

This offense can provide wins, but I don't think it's equipped for shootouts with teams like Bills and Lions, if defense goes to crap like it usually does when it gets cold out.

The defense this year isn't the same as last year they're playing more man to man, and they're more creative with their blitz packages.

    "Football Inflation"

Cowherd nailed it today. Steelers likely will be 5-1 tonight... but it's inflated against young QBs, backup QBs and old QB tonight. We've seen this same movie before starting in 2020. Steelers will start to fold around week 11.

Newsflash! I'll STFU with all the negativity if Steelers go 2-1 or better vs. Packers, Colts and Chargers.

LoL. Thank You, and I don't want you to stop with the negativity. I want You to keep being negative, week after week, after week.

Colin is funny, and entertaining, but very very very rarely correct, and when he's wrong, he just waits and act like He always thought that.
    2 recent Examples:
    1. S. Sanders should be drafted the 1st Qb in the 1st round, now he acts like he never said that.
    2. He was 100% sure Mike McDaniels was the up , and coming of the new wave of HCs, and that that's how all teams should go, and that Mike McDaniels would turn that team into SB champions.......now he makes fun of him, and said it was a bad idea to hire him. You can always be right when You just flip flop. LoL.
I listen to his show almost every day, because he's entertaining, but I would be rich if I could have one dollar for every single time he's been wrong.

McDaniels was... and would be a damn good OC. Likewise with Klingsbury in DC. Sometimes coaches are better coordinators than HCs. Arians was one of the few coaches who was a better HC than coordinator.... but he was a good OC for Steelers, IMO.

Cowherd has been right about the Steelers for years now. Tone deaf on offense. Defense gets banged up late in the year... and can't bail out the sputtering inconsistent offense. Only difference now is... Steelers have 2 really good co-OC's.... Arthur Smith and Aaron Rodgers. :lolol:

Thats all fine, and good, but You can't say they will be great HCs, and then later say well, they are just good OCs, and DCs, that's not how it works.
We all know that some coaches aren't meant to be HCs, but that's not what he said, I know I had to listen to him go on, and on about it.
He has been constantly wrong about the Steelers. All the proof you need is see where he picked us to finish in the last 5 years. He's has been wrong every single year.

You say that as if they haven't faced any good quarterbacks. Darnold and Maye have both been excellent so far this season.

The health of the defense is the real question. When the pieces are in place, they look very good, but we may not even see that tonight due to the potential absence of Elliott.

Also that take is weak because it acts like we are the only team to face those teams.
Also why isn't anyone going on about the Bills wins have come against a combination of teams with a whole(if this stat I heard on ESPN is correct) total of 3 wins.

I thought Cowherd picked Steelers to finish 3rd this year ahead of the Browns. Maybe I heard him wrong?

Picking Steelers to finish 3rd behind Burrow/Bengals and LJ/Ravens... was nothing shocking by any stretch. Nobody thought they both would be injured and out after week 4.

They faced Darnold and lost soundly. Steelers were never really in that game after the debacle in the end zone with Friermuth and CAIII. It was a beat down. Packers and Chargers have better rosters than Seahawks. Colts are on par with Seahawks. Like I said... let's see how they do in the next 3 games after the Bengals game tonight and evaluate then.

Just go look at the last 5 years where he picked us to finish at the beginning of the year. He has been wrong not once, not twice, but every single year. So what does that say?? It sure doesn't tell me he knows what he's talking about when it comes to the Steelers.

He's been dead on accurate about Tomlin and other HCs with background in defense. Today he was ripping Jets for Aaron Glenn hire at HC when they should have went with offense backround HC. McDermott/Buffalo? How has he fared with arguably the best QB in the league vs Andy Reid/Chiefs in the playoffs? Dan Quinn of Commanders has fallen back to earth... so has Ryans/Texans. Cowherd is right about HCs with background in offense. Look who's won Super Bowls since Belichick Patriots last won theirs.... Arians, McVey, Reid, Siriani.... ALL were OCs... NOT DCs. Cowherd is right about all of that. :smiley1:

Not sure if this was posted earlier in this thread but quite a detailed and disturbing article about the Steelers playing on the road against division teams on Thursdays, even extending way before TNF became a thing going 45 years back. (Also odd that they played Thursday games when it wasn't Thanksgiving. Say what? The only positive in the article would be that AR is second all time only to Brady in Thursday wins with 11 and would tie him if Steelers prevail. But perhaps more meaningful is that none of the 45 years of losing on the road to division teams ever involved Cincy. So we have that going for us. :thumbs up:
