Middle of the Field

Still a sore spot on defense.

I find it ironic that the area of the field the Steelers avoid like the plague on offense is the one they so often struggle to defend. Of Gabriel's 221 yds passing 168 yds were to the middle of the field.

Oh, btw, guess who else likes to toss them to the MOF? Joe Flacco. If his OL can hold up I expect Flacco to crack 300 yds with over half to the MOF.

Better QBs with better OLs are gonna carve this defense up.

A lot of those yards came late in the 4th qtr with game in hand. I’m more concerned about all the dropped passes by Cleveland. You’re right, A great offense will carve them up. Bengals are not that.

I dont know but on the surface it looks like Gabriel had some success in passing but when you look at the number Gabriel threw 51 times, completed 29 for 221 yards and 0 Tds and Rodgers threw 30 times completed 21 for 235 yards. 51 times throwing is crazy and not have any TDs.

 

Considering the circumstances I thought he played fairly well. He didn’t hurt the Browns with interceptions etc. I looked at the play by play and there’s no way this mod numbers are accurate. My guess is AI was used

Agreed. He got sacked alot and our defense was just too much for Gabriel. Harmon, Herbig, Ramsey and TJ had a great game. AI is wrong alot. I use it daily and find you have to correct it.

 

I was trying to find a stat last week and the ai response was there were none because the season hadn’t started

 

That is pretty much been my experience. I get it to create gifs, jpegs and mp4s for me and I have to correct it so much it gets really frustrating.

 

I think we have to bring serious heat to Flacco.

Play by play data. Totals for the season...this is what I'm talking about. And it's not just a one game thing like some are suggesting. It's a known problem with Tomlin's defense.
