    I do not agree
    Not even a bit
    It’s far too early
    To think of such ****
    For the season is long
    And injuries happen
    Lamar will be back
    And he won’t be fappin’
    It could even be
    That the Ratbirds we’re chasin’
    Aaron could go down
    And then we’ll have Mason
    So I do not agree
    Not even a bit
    It’s far too early
    To think of such ****

I agree...no team is an auto-win for any team, and definitely not with the small margins the Steelers play with. But to the posts topic, if you want any shot at the one seed (far-fetched IMO) can't lose coming off a bye to an average team with a rookie QB traveling back from overseas.

Division is in the bag, baby! Ravens and Bengals are disasters spiraling into catastrophes, and the biggest challenge are the 1-4 Browns.

#1 seed ain't gonna happen though.

    Agreed.

If we can take care of business the next two weeks, the chance we win the division has to be very high.

    Really important games.

I worry about CLE. Their O sucks in general, but they look to at least have a decent RB. And they do have a strong D IMO.

    First round bye?

So it goes from wild card playoff loss to divisional playoff loss :lolol:

I would think if the Bengals are out of it they won't risk having him play last game or two.

I think the Bengals are probably done.

I think the Rats are managed well enough that they'll hang around. I also expect that Jackson will be back by the first game we have against them.

    We'll see though.

Well, just keep stacking wins. The pecking order in the AFC is off to a turbulent start, and we really don’t know who the teams to beat will be in December for seeding. I personally expect Buffalo to be a 12+ win team absent an Allen injury, but the other recent top tier teams look very vulnerable.

    Just keep winning.

There are way too many 'If's'
This season may come down to the final weeks to decide who even wins divisions.

    Speculation on my part:
If everything plays out and no major injuries, especially to Rogers.
I could see 8 or 9 potential losses worst case
    and maybe 6 best case.

So 9-8 or 8-9 worst case to 11-6 best case.
I think the Bills, Colts and Jags are doing very well early on... I think the Bills will get stronger in the final stretch.
There are other team like the Charges should they get over injuries.
The Broncos are a very tough defense and should be there in the final stretch as well.
The Chiefs can't be counted out.
All the teams mentioned could give the Steelers a rough time though I think the Bills are the only one way better than the Steelers.
But that's all speculative at best.

This why folks keep getting all lathered up about wild card round losses. Y'all got a fundamentally flawed roster with no one capable of putting the team on their backs and just deciding to lose a game as the #1 seed in the conference.

    That is optimistic.

If Joe Flacco could have lasted 1 more Week as the Browns QB, before getting traded to the Bengals today, the Steelers could have faced the same QB in 3 regular season games.

How many times a year do you want to face Old Man Flacco in a year.... Answer, as many times as we can get. :)

Burrow will not play this year

At best he might be back for week 16

That would be foolish why push him get him ready for next year

    Yep. Look at the competition.

    Rats- Set back, maybe broken.
    Cincy- No QB, broken
Bills- Maybe not as elite as thought.
    KC- No longer elite.
Chargers-Unproven and tend to always choke.
    Denver-Unproven.
    Colts-Unproven.

We are officially upgraded from impossible to get to a Super Bowl to Very Unlikely, but possible.

Then again, maybe this week will turn out to be peak hope week.

At least we have hope for now.

We faced him last year and ripped our defense a new one.

He could be back as early as December and play the last 4 games. If Flacco can have the Bengals at 5-8 by then they might have Burrow play the last month and try and salvage a playoff spot. But you're right if they are officially eliminated by then it would be foolish to play him this year.

He was also playing behind a better OL with the Colts than what the Bengals have.

Who would have thought the mighty AFC South would be where the juggernaut powerful teams would be after 5 weeks? Steelers have to play the Colts, but not the Jaguars. That could be an epic beat down if Colts O line annihilates our D line like Seahawks did... while Jonathan Taylor runs wild past our ILBs and secondary.

We can't dismiss the Ravens yet. their schedule gets a lot easier from here, while ours gets a lot tougher.

The Ravens were decimated by injuries but are getting healthy just in time for the easier part of their schedule. Jackson will likely be back after their bye. A healthy Ravens team against a softer remaining schedule gives them opportunity to take over the division. I'm not saying we're doomed, but the division isn't ours yet.

Current odds look good for the playoffs. BUT, the next game is critical. Lose and the playoff odds drop to less than 60%. This team still has issues with running the ball consistently. And the defense still struggles in third and longs. And while the Steelers play zone over half the time, they are 2nd worst in the NFL in that scheme (on an EPA basis).

BAL is definitely not out of it. And even CLE and CIN have a chance:
