Listen up men first you need to take some nice thick cut bread like between quarter inch to half inch obviously stay away from thin cut. Then I put the peanut butter on both slices to create a base or pocket if you will. Avoid the crunchy or all natural peanut butter and stick to a nice creamy variety like Jiff. Natural is too oily and can ruin the story. Then right between those we add of nice layer of grape jelly, preserves and jam won't cut it they will caramelize or burn. Now dont blink on this next part you place the two halves together dont go too hard because it will let all that goodness be smashed out the side.. Then take some soft butter and a basting brush to spread it on the outside of your bread, dont use room temperature and a knife or it will wreck everything. Take that and out it in a pan on medium heat until that bread is golden allowing the peanut butter to get all nice and melty and warm that grape jelly up into a flavor explosion. That is how you make the perfect grilled PB&J sandwich.
